Chinese crypto miner AIRLIFTS operation to Maryland as China CRACKDOWN wipes $400BN off the market (Report)
China has shut down most of its bitcoin mining operations over the last few days - with one Guangzhou-based firm reportedly shipping over 3,000KG of equipment (about 200 units) as they moved their operation to Maryland, US, with more expected to flee en-masse. (CNBC)
On Friday, authorities in China’s Sichuan province ordered crypto miners to CEASE operating, and the People’s Bank of China urged financial institutions NOT TO provide any crypto-related services – wiping $400BN in value off the total digital market in the process.
Bitcoin suffered a daily PLUNGE of over 11% on Tuesday, as it fell to below $29K - in turn WIPING OUT all this year’s gains, before rallying to over $32K by 17:55GMT.
