Canada BOMBARDED by over 700,000 lightning strikes from FIRE CLOUDS in just 15 hours!
Clouds made from rampaging wildfires in British Columbia are creating storms that are throwing out thousands of lightning strikes, bewildering meteorologists.
The North American Lightning Detection Network recorded 710,177 lightning events across British Columbia and northwestern Alberta in about 15 hours.
As a whole, Canada sees about 90% less lightning than the United States, but this wildfire-associated event is the most extreme yet witnessed, being called a literal "firestorm".
