Pope Cancels DR Congo & South Sudan Trip Due To Bad Knee
Pope Francis has pulled out of a trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan at the start of July on medical advice, but has not called off plans to visit Canada later in the month.
The 85-year-old pontiff has been confined to a wheelchair for the last month and has taken injections to help with knee ligament trouble.
Francis is due to visit Canada from 24-30 July where he is scheduled to personally apologize to the Indigenous peoples whose children suffered horrific abuse and death at Catholic residential schools.
