⚡️German Airline Axes 800 Flights Amid Pilot Strike
130,000 passengers will be left stranded as a pay dispute forces Lufthansa to cancel trips from Frankfurt and Munich, two of Europe’s main airports, and sees the company’s value drop 5.5%.
The 24-hour strike action was announced on Thursday and will start at midnight after a two-stage pay increase of 900 euros was rebuffed by the union, leaving the airline no choice but to admit delays and cancellations may spread across the weekend.
The company has been plagued by strikes and staff shortages since the pandemic - but hopes to return to the negotiating table “as soon as possible”, a spox confirmed.
