James 1:5-8
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, without wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed with the wind. 7 Let not that man think that he will receive anything from the Lord. 8 A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Heavenly Father,
Gathered before You, we praise You for loving us, and blessing us with Your Word, wisdom, and discernment. We ask Your forgiveness for our sins, and for Your guidance in living to serve You. We give thanks for providing us with a solid foundation, and for warning us that if we seek knowledge elsewhere, we’re subjecting ourselves to the enemy like Adam and Eve did in the Garden. Father, we pray for those unstable, wandering souls tempted by unknown knowledge as if being tossed about in the wind or the sea. We also pray for believers and unbelievers alike. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
