NEW - A technical problem on the part of Microsoft has led to the complete failure of the spam filter for many Outlook users in recent days.
After initially remaining silent, Microsoft did acknowledge the problem on its status page yesterday evening: "Users may have had spam and phishing emails delivered to their inboxes."
The error seems to be fixed now.
