Brazilian scientists have discovered that a dose of snake venom can fight off coronavirus.
Having a deadly Brazilian viper sink its fangs into you wouldn’t be much fun on a good day, let alone if you’re already sick.
Fortunately, these very clever science people can synthesize the desired molecule from the snake venom in a laboratory (so, please, leave the snakes alone).
The molecule, already known for its antibacterial qualities, successfully inhibited coronavirus reproduction in monkey cells by 75%.
The next step is to see if the molecule can prevent the virus from entering cells in the first place.
