Anonymous email threatens to BLOW UP Indian naval warship at country’s largest shipyard
The Cochin Shipyard, home to the first aircraft carrier built by India (INS Vikrant), received the anonymous email on Aug. 25 – threatening to bomb the warship, Kerala state police revealed on Monday.
The INS Vikrant began sea trials in August this year and is slated to be commissioned next year. The 262-meter-long ship cost over $3.5bn to make and can carry a total of 30 aircraft.
An Afghan citizen was arrested in July this year for allegedly working at the Cochin Shipyard using forged documents – the area has been under high-security surveillance since the incident.
