Love JO'K, but the very idea of accreditation is repulsive right now. Truth stands on its own. Did a reporter in the 1800s need a degree, badge, or certification paper to write about what they provided evidence or witness testimony of? Freedom of the press is interesting. Who are the press? Seems like a designation that is bought and paid for, doesn't it? If speech itself is meant to be free, why is the press included? What did "press" mean back then? I'm thinking the printing "press." I would posit that it was included to say that the 1st Amendment is to elaborate freedom of speech in voice (speech), writing (press), and thought (religion). In this context, the idea of anyone paying for the recognition to do so, is repugnant. 👇👇
