There’s been a Military Coup in Africa

Gabon Africa Coup - Army Cancels elections, Seizes Power, & Dissolves All Institutions

“In the name of the people of Gabon & as Guarantors of the institutions, we have decided to defend peace by putting an end to the current regime.

To this end, the general elections of 26 August 2023 and the truncated results are cancelled.

The borders are closed until further notice. All institutions of the republic are dissolved.”

They annulled the results of Saturday's election, in which President Ali Bongo was declared the winner.

Military officials said that Mr Bongo had been placed under house arrest and one of his sons arrested for treason.

This is the eighth coup in former French colonies in Africa in the past three years.

MY THOUGHTS:
I can’t say for sure this is a good thing, other than that the people seem to be very happy about it down there.

President Ali Bongo was president for 53 years, so I’d say it’s a safe assumption he was corrupt. Time = corruption.
