EPIC Blow to Apple’s App Store Stranglehold - Shares Drop!
A federal judge has ordered Apple to open up payment alternatives to their in-house system, allowing developers to bypass commission fees previously enforced upon them.
District Judge ruled that Apple had engaged in anti-competitive conduct, but stopped short of granting Epic Games - who had sought the injunction - their accusation that the Big Tech giant was an “illegal monopolist."
Shares in Apple dropped 2.5% following news of the judgement that the company had tried to “hide critical information from consumers and illegally stifle consumer choice”.
