RUSSIAGATE: Clinton Campaign Attorney Sussmann Pleads NOT GUILTY
Lawyer Michael Sussmann has pleaded not guilty to making a false statement to the FBI on Friday after he was indicted as part of Trump-appointed special counsel John Durham’s probe into the origins of the Russia investigation.
Sussmann was indicted for allegedly telling the FBI he was not working for any client when he requested and held a September 2016 meeting – during which he provided evidence of a purported secret comms channel between Donald Trump and Russia.
The indictment alleges that Sussmann was working on behalf of a tech industry exec, a US internet company and Hilary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Sussmann faces up to 5 years in prison if convicted.
