Not only would this be a loss of sovereignty but it would most likely make investigations, arrests or any sort of police work virtually impossible not to mention that legal actions by local residents to get compensation or regarding problems such as the camps expanding and invading their property, destroying their mills and olive groves would be a very long process in which they would have to contact the EU and not their local governments.

And given how incompetent the EU is, this would certainly lead to unprecedented chaos in the islands and possibly even mainland Greece where other camps also exist and would probably become a safe haven for crime
