The ancient Greek colony of Empúries, in Alt Empordà, Catalonia, is the Westernmost Greek city in the world that has been found.

The city Ἐμπόριον (Emporion, meaning "trading place", cf. emporion) was founded in 575 BC by Greek colonists from Phocaea. The city developed into a large economic and commercial centre as well as being the largest Greek colony in the Iberian Peninsula. After the invasion of Gaul from Iberia by Hannibal the Carthaginian general in 218 BC, the city was occupied by the Romans. In the Early Middle Ages, the city's exposed coastal position left it open to marauders and it was abandoned.

Some sources say that ancient Greeks also lived further south-west, in a city called Hēmeroskopeion or Dianio, that some historians believe would have been located around modern-day Dénia (in the Valencian County), but no traces of Hēmeroskopeion have ever been found. @GreekLeague

🔸 Turkish sources told Kathimerini that the disputes between the two countries over maritime areas of responsibility in the Aegean and the Eastern Mediterranean could be deferred to the International Court of Justice, as long, they noted, as Athens adheres to the same philosophy and principles of consultation as it did with the agreements on the same issue it signed with Italy and Egypt

🔸 Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Donmez on Tuesday ruled out the possibility of seismic surveys by Turkish ships in the area between the islands of Rhodes and Crete since last year’s exploratory activities by the Turkish Oruc Reis vessel had not yielded any results

🔸 And those who emphasize that the "race" is not about 5 billion or four Units but the agreement in the long run will be much longer seems to be confirmed. This also explains the fact that almost all the giant shipbuilding companies are participating in the claim, which are intensifying their efforts. Almost all the suitors are already ready to submit new offers for a larger number of new units

Reproduction of Athena Parthenos

Construction of the Parthenon began in 447 BC after the orders of the Athenian statesman Pericles. Construction was completed 15 years later. Athena Parthenos, the most renowned image of Athens, stood in the temple with the serpent of Erichthonius at her feet, the head of Medusa on her breast, and a pair of serpents around her waist.  The statue was over 37 feet tall (11.5 meters) and the gold weighed about 1,000 kg (2,400 lbs). The entrance to the main temple was through the east main door.

This replica, modeled after the original statue that once appeared in the former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, took eight years to complete, and is the largest piece of indoor sculpture in the Western World. @GreekLeague

From Thursday's protests against the tyranny.

The context of the the protests is that the government wants to impose what's essentially medical apartheid in all businesses, and mandatory vaccinations for experimental vaccines.

For the former, you'll need a "COVID pass" in order to get freely to a store or a cafeteria. If you're unvaccinated, you'll need a negative PCR, rapid or self test.

For the latter it's obvious: the government is blackmailing people to get the death shot.
