How to Secure an Instagram

1. Verify the Trusted email

Trusted email is usually the OGE, however, if the account email has been changed for a long period of time, the Trusted email changes. You can check the Trusted email by logging into the Instagram on a mobile device, then, logging out, then clicking “Forgot Password” enter the username and click “Need more help” or “Can’t reset password”

This will show you the Trusted email hints. If theres more than one make sure you're given access to all of them. Often times, the creation email won't show up here, in which case it's no longer a Trusted email, meaning the email that shows up there is more valuable.

2. Remove any 2FA

Have the previous owner remove any 2FA on the Instagram before you login.

3. Secure the associated Email

Login to the email you were provided with the account and fully secure it.

4. Update Email/Phone, Password & add 2FA

This is the most crucial step. New devices cannot add 2FA or change email for 5-7 days.

Have the previous owner change the Email & Phone to yours, and activate SMS 2FA for you.

5. Log out all active devices

Access settings, select security, and navigate to the "Security checks" section. Remove any sessions that are not familiar.

6. Download data to check OGE

To do this go to your profile and click the 3 bars at the top right, click "Your activity", scroll down to "Download your information", Click "Request a download", Click "Select types of information" then click "Login and account creation" and submit the download. You should have the file showing the OGE within a few minutes.

How to Secure an X/Twitter Account

1. Secure the associated email

Secure the email provided with the X account, if an email wasn't provided, proceed to Step 2.

2. Have the email changed

New logins can't do this for 48 hours, you must ask the old owner to do it. Provide them with a fresh email that hasn't been used before. Here

3. Change the password

Login and change the password. Here

4. Remove the phone number

You cant change the number on a new login for 48 hours, remove it and add later if needed. Here

5. Clear all sessions and revoke app permissions

This will logout all devices logged into the X account. Here

6. Enable Password Reset Protection and 2FA

Enabling Password Reset Protection will disallow people from sending your email password reset requests. Here

Additional Tips

- Don't change the Birthday as it can lead to locks.
- Don't change the username, you will lose it to a bot.
- All usernames under 5 letters are unswappable.
- Confirm the OGE by comparing the Twitter creation date with the first email.

How to Secure a TikTok

Before beginning make sure to secure on mobile as you're given very limited options on web.

Check if there is an external recovery method. Click the question mark on the login page, choose "recover your account," and enter the username. If it shows anything other than email or phone number such as Google, it's likely linked to an external source and vulnerable to pull-backs.

1. Check if the username is a duplicate.

The most reliable way to check is by searching the username in the TikTok search bar, duped usernames will show up next to each other, if not, very close. If there are two copies of the username you likely don't want to proceed with the deal.

2. Ask the seller to change the Email/Number to yours

Go to profile, click the three bars, click on Settings and Privacy > Manage Account > Email / Number. Adding a number is recommended to enhance the security.

3. Reset the password using your email

Login after you've reset the password to something new.

4. Remove Sessions

Go to Settings and Privacy > Security and login > Manage Devices and remove any device that do not belong to you. This step is crucial as sometimes TikTok may not log other sessions out despite the password being changed.

5. Turn on 2FA

Below the Manage Devices section, you will find the option for 2-step verification. Enable it to complete securing.

- Secure without a VPN to avoid rate limits.

How to Secure a Snapchat

1. Remove Linked number and 2FA

Ask the owner to remove any linked phone number, as only they have the capability to do so. They can unlink it by associating it with a different Snapchat account. Also, ask them to disable or remove any two-factor authentication settings.

2. Email Setup

If email info isn't provided, ask the owner to add your email.

3. Change Password

You can't change the account password normally as there is a 24-48 hour waiting period. Reset it using forgot password via email.

How to Secure a Twitch

1. Secure the associated email

The previous email will be sent a 24 hour revert link, make sure this gets permanently deleted as it can be used to instantly pull the account. Deleting this email is crucial to securing your account from pull-backs.

- Date of birth matters, it can help you with Twitch support if the account gets banned or pulled, ask for it before dealing.

How To Secure a Telegram

1. Ask the seller to change the Phone Number to yours

You can't change it on a new login for 24 hours

2. Ask the seller to manually log out of all sessions

You can't log them out for 24 hours.

PC: Settings > Privacy and Security > Show all sessions.
Mobile: Settings > Devices

Make sure there are none other than yours.

How to Swap a Telegram

There are many different types of swaps on Telegram

1. Account to Account

2FA must be on for 7 days to do this.

- Change the username on your account to something random.
- Create a public channel with the link as the original username.
- Tell the buyer to join the channel you just created.
- Transfer ownership of the channel to the buyer.

Mobile: Edit > Administrators > Click on Buyers Name > Enable All Permissions > Transfer Channel Ownership > Change Owner > Enter 2FA Password.

PC: Manage Channel > Administrators > Click on Buyers Name > Enable All Permissions > Transfer Channel Ownership > Change Owner > Enter 2FA Password.

2. Channel to Account

- Change your channel's link from t.me/username to something random.
- Change your account username to @username.

3. Account to Channel

- Change your account's username from @username to something random
- Create a public channel with the link as the original username.

Additional Tips

- Claim the username within 15 minutes of release to avoid losing it.
- Don't swap the username more than 2 times an hour.

How to Use Fragment

1. Download Tonkeeper

Download the app on your phone, create a wallet and save the 24 word seed phrase.

2. Connect Tonkeeper to Fragment

Head to fragment.com, click the blue Connect TON button, and connect your Tonkeeper wallet.

3. Connect Telegram

While on fragment.com, click the Connect Telegram button, and type in your Telegram phone number, then approve the login from your Telegram app.

4. Send the seller your TON address

In the Tonkeeper app, get your TON address, this address will be used to receive your username NFT.

5. Assign the username

Upon receiving the username NFT, head to https://fragment.com/my/assets and assign it.

If you want to assign it to your account click Personal account.

6. Activate the username

Go to your Telegram app

Personal Profile: Settings > Edit profile > Username > Click and activate it

Channel: Manage Channel > Channel type > Manage links > Click and activate it

- Make sure to write down your seed phrase.
- Telegram accounts with US phone numbers wont work on fragment.

How to Secure a Steam

Verify the Account Ownership

Check the creation date and confirm the registration email matches the account. If they match, you likely have the original email

Change the Password

After logging in, click on your nickname in the top right corner and select "Account Details." Scroll down to find the option to change your password. Here

Change the Email

It's safer to keep the account on the same email, but if you want to change it, modify it in the "Account Details" section.

Set Up Steam Guard Mobile 2FA

Add a mobile number for enhanced security. Set up Steam Guard Mobile to receive codes via the Steam app. Deauthorize all devices to ensure no unauthorized access. Here

Collect Additional Information

Request a list of CD keys used on the account and the last 4 digits of the cardholder's credit/debit card for future account recovery. Verify purchases through the "Account Details" section. Here

Community Locks/Bans

If your profile receives reports, Steam may flag your account as stolen. Provide as much ownership proof as possible. Preferably, the original owner should submit recovery tickets from their IP address.

Additional Tips

- Be cautious with temporary emails and trust the seller before proceeding, as they can reclaim the account.
- Keep records of email changes, CD key activations, payment methods, credit card purchases (date, location, cardholder's name, last 4 digits). This info may be needed for account recovery.

How to Secure a Discord

1. Secure the Email

Begin with securing the current email or the OGE.

If the account doesn't come with an email, change it to your own. Access your account settings, go to "My Account," and select "Edit" in the email section. Ask the seller for the verification code sent to their email, then enter your new email.

2. Change the Password

Navigate to the account settings. In My Account settings scroll to the password section and create a strong, unique password.

3. Change the Number

Removing the number can often lead to locks, therefore it is advisable to change the number to your own, make sure to use a secure number as VOIP's can often cause the account to get banned.

4. Enable 2FA

In My Account settings, scroll to the 2FA section and enable it. Choose your preferred method for receiving verification codes, such as an authentication app.

5. Remove Connected apps

Go to the authorized apps section in the account settings and remove all apps.

6. Remove Devices

Go to the devices section in the account settings and remove all devices that aren't yours.

Additional Tips

- Avoid changing the phone number to a VOIP
- Make sure to save your 2FA backup codes.
- Discord accounts can be easily pulled back, try your best to get one with OGE.

How to Secure a PSN

Changing your password or email on a PSN may lead to a lock and ask you to enter the date of birth, knowing it in advance could save you from this kind of situation.

1. Verify the Date of birth

Go to the Sony website and log in to your account. Navigate to "My account information" and check or change your birth date. Note it down.

2. Change the Email

Visit the Sony website and go to Account - Security. Click on "Modify" and enter your desired email address. Remember to keep a record of the old email.

3. Change your password

On the same tab, click on "Change password". Create a strong password with a minimum of 8 characters.

4. Family Management

Check if your account is part of a PlayStation family by going to "PlayStation Network" and clicking on "Family Management". Ensure that no family members are displayed. Remove any if necessary.

5. Device Management

In the "Device Management" section, select "PlayStation Consoles" and disable any remaining connected consoles.

- Set up a security question and store the answer safely.
- Add prepaid PSN payment method.
- Take screenshots of PSN purchase history, including transaction details.

How to Secure a Gamertag

1. Login and Access Security Settings

Log in to your account using the provided information. Once logged in, go here. Scroll down on the page until you find the "Security" section and click on "Security Dashboard."

2. Enhance Security Settings

Go to Security Dashboard > Click "Advanced Security Options" > Change password to a strong one > Return to Advanced Security Options > Turn off "Receive Alerts" > Find "Email a Code" > Add your verification methods.

3. Enable 2FA

Scroll to "Additional Security" > Click "Turn On" for 2FA > Follow the guidance to set it up > Generate a "Recovery Code" and save it securely.

4. Update Login Alias and Sign Out Devices

Go to "Add an Alias" here. Change your login email. You have the option to create a new alias or use an existing email. After updating your alias, go back to the "Advanced Security" tab and click "Sign Me Out." This action will log out all devices from their sessions. Please note that you will need to sign in again with your updated alias email if you changed it.

5. Review Connected Devices

How to Secure an Epic Games / Fortnite Account

1. Remove External Connections

Prior to logging into the purchased account, ask the seller to unlink all external connections you won't be using, such as Xbox, PSN, and Nintendo accounts. Also, have them remove any applications with access to the account. Here

2. Be Cautious with Email Changes

If the option to change the account's email is available, refrain from doing so immediately. Ensure that no one else has recently logged into the account, as sudden changes might lead to account disablement. Here

3. Secure the Current Email

Properly secure the email associated with the account. Strengthen the email account's password and enable additional security measures, such as two-factor authentication.

4. Change the Password

6. Download the PDF

How to Secure a Minecraft Account

1. Access Outlook

Sign in at outlook.com. If prompted, get the code from the seller.

2. Access Microsoft Account

Click on your profile picture and select "my Microsoft account".

3. Clear Devices

Under "Microsoft account", remove any devices linked to the account by viewing details and selecting 'remove'. Double-check to ensure devices are removed.

4. Update Security

- Click on "Security" then "Advanced Security". You might need another code from the seller.
- Add new security methods. Add two emails and using the Microsoft authenticator app.
- Monitor here for suspicious activities.
- Remove the seller's security methods.

5. Generate Recovery Code

While still in security settings, navigate to the bottom of the tab and select "generate a new code". Save this recovery code securely with your account details—it's vital for regaining access if lost. Above this, ensure you click "sign out" to disconnect from all devices, eliminating any seller access.

6. Password Update

Change the Microsoft (and thereby Minecraft) password.

7. Update Email Aliases

- Add a new email alias, make it the primary email alias and remove all old ones.
- Ensure the seller is logged out of the email on outlook.com and minecraft.net.

8. Check for Exploits

Use this to check for the exploit. If found, contact Zyger to remove it for you, he can do this easily. Ask seller to confirm that they have logged out of the account in their PC's "emails and accounts" settings.

- Confirm you've received the correct in-game name and any expected capes.
- Check servers for undisclosed ranks/bans.

1. Login to your account

How to Avoid Impersonator Scams

Impersonators are the most common type of scam on Telegram. A scammer will create a secondary Telegram account trying their best to make it look nearly identical to a Middleman's Telegram. They will add you into a group chat or message you privately acting as a popular Middleman in an attempt to take your money or account(s).

What an impostor looks like

They copy the Profile picture, Display Name, and Bio. Often these scammers will leave their username blank and put the Middleman's username in their bio in an attempt to have it look like their username.

Always look closely to where the username is placed to confirm whether you're speaking with a real Middleman or not.

How imposter scams work

Scammers will contact you and say something like "Message @beam". The trick is the "@beam" is not plain text, it is a fake link.

The link is disguised as looking like a tagged profile via a hyperlink format. If you click this link you will be linked to a scammers profile rather than the real Middleman.

How to avoid these scammers

Manually look up the Middleman's username yourself to find the correct account. You can also add the real Middleman's account as a contact and give them a custom contact name to help you differentiate them from a fake.
