Alan Sillitoe is one of the best writers to come out of England in the 20th century. His career is one of the best ways to show that you don’t have to have a good education to be a great writer. Alan may have become creative because he didn’t have a lot of money and his father beat him up and made his life hard. In his early twenties, when he went to Europe, his life changed in a big way. The famous poet Robert Graves and the American poet Ruth Fainlight, who later became his wife, changed the way he thought about life. Alan went on to write more than 40 novels and 12 collections of poems as a result. Alan was one of the few people who spoke out against the cruel treatment of workers in Europe’s factories. Many of his works that were praised by critics showed that he felt for workers. Many writers today think that everything Alan has written is a masterpiece.

Посмотрев фильм 1943г " Сестра его дворецкого" и услышав русские романсы в исполнении американской актрисы Дины Дурбин,которая их САМА спела и специально брала уроки русского языка ,чтобы их исполнить,душа опять затрепетала в умилении 🩷
Русский язык - это такая глубина! Такая сила! Такая красота в абсолюте для меня !
P.S. романсы из фильма " Калитка" и " Цыганская венгерка " ,спетые Диной Дурбин, растворяют любую злость и любую тревогу.

On a bench ,in the center of YOSHKAR-OLA, the capital of the Mari El Republic, sits a bronze sculpture of a smug-faced cat with a newspaper spread under his butt.
🐾This is the Yoshkin Cat, a visual representation of a Russian expletive🐾
😸Did you know this? 👇
In Russian, yoshkin-kot (literally “Yoshkin cat”) is a humorous phrase uttered in surprise or mild shock, perhaps similar to the “holy cow” in English.
🐾🐈 One theory suggests that it may refer to Bayun, a magical cat in Russian fairytales, who often assists the witch Baba Yaga.
However, it is not known what yoshkin (or sometimes ezhkin) really means anymore—perhaps a corruption of some earlier word.
🐾 BUT one thing is clear that it has nothing to do with Yoshkar-Ola, despite the similarity of the sounds 🤷♀🤷♂
I bought the one as a souvenir to keep it home😻

Adorned by the calligraphy of the Iraqi makes it a unique object of Art!

Interestingly enough,I've seen very few ones as horror and thrillers are not my cup of tea at all but I remembered " The green mile " ( 1999) ... It made me think 🤔 Was it a true story??🤔

Well, precisely speaking, the 1999 movie is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name that was published in 1996. When it comes to the inspiration of the book, it is believed that King based his novel on a 14-year-old boy named George Stinney Jr., the youngest ever to be sentenced to death in the electric chair in the 20th century in America.
The film is emotionally charged,heart-wrenching at times. Tom Hanks is incomparable there 🔥 one of my favorite actors and he still is !
