When huge crowds marched through London on Saturday 24 April, some celebrities and NHS staff were quick to take to Twitter to express their horror and contempt. But here we are, just over two weeks on, and there’s still no increase in cases.

A letter from over 40 medics & scientists, organised by HART member Dr Ros Jones, has been sent to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) warning of the dangers of vaccines which are “rushed to market”.

Concerns about Bolton appear unfounded. Pockets of infection will continue to be seen, as with all endemic viruses. Overall, COVID-19 is at low levels with cases and deaths at summer lows and total deaths well below normal.

With numbers of patients in Bolton as small as they are, people will likely know who these individuals are. Matt Hancock has completely ignored the NHS's own guidance on protecting patient confidentiality.

There is currently no threat of any hospitals being overwhelmed and absolute case numbers are still very small, in spite of the use of emotive language in media reports.
