Former Nevada City Mayor and former California gubernatorial candidate Reinette Senum says cloud seeding activity in the United States is expected to increase by 200 percent over the next few years.

She says most cloud seeding programs operate from the Colorado Rockies westward. According to Senum, pilots are hired during incoming storms and paid about $750 an hour to disperse materials. She says the process involves releasing silver iodide and chaff, described as aluminum-coated glass, and that the programs are used by irrigation districts and power companies.

Senum says cloud seeding was long denied before being publicly acknowledged, with assurances that it has been conducted for decades and is considered safe. She disputes those assurances, saying it has not been proven safe and argues that officials announced plans last year to significantly expand cloud seeding programs in the coming years.

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope this day finds you surrounded by family, friends, and the people who matter most. Please stay safe, and above all, remember not to drink and drive.

As we share laughter, gifts, and good food, let’s not lose sight of what today truly means. Christmas is not about Santa or material things, but about the birth of Christ our Lord and God, the greatest gift of all.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank each of you for being part of my little corner of the internet. It has genuinely meant a great deal to me to share conversations, ideas, and time with people who share a common passion and purpose. I’m grateful for every interaction and connection.

Wishing you all a blessed and peaceful Christmas.

Saving Seeds, Preserving Taste - Bill Best #Seeds
From chat where the book was requested:

"If ya haven’t read this one, it’s a keeper. This guy knows EVERYTHING about HEIRLOOM green beans and tomatoes.
For instance, tobacco and tomatoes are in the same family. If you’re trying to quit smoking, eat tomatoes.

He sells seeds and has a seed swap every year.

One of his buddies saved only the seeds from his best single variety for four decades with no cross pollination. The end result was the best of the best of the best of the best. It’d be like only having grandkids from your smartest, best-looking kid.😂🤣😂

This guy turns 90 soon. Not all heroes wear capes."

So my toddler cornered me in the laundry room a little while ago because he wanted to know what I had in my hands. I danced around him facing away which irritated him but he was determined to know. I was just carrying out something to the garage but gave me a laught and reminded me of this video.

How This 1/32 Acre Garden Feeds 2 People ALL YEAR!
Want a garden that genuinely feeds you - not just supplements meals, but carries your food needs across an entire year? In this video I break down exactly what it takes to do that, using real results from this 125m² (1/30th acre) garden: over 700kg (1,500lb) of harvests in its first 12 months, averaging around 2kg of fresh produce every day.

You’ll learn the core “infrastructure” that makes high yields possible (raised beds, trellises, hoop beds, polytunnel, water storage, composting and pathways), the key crops that deliver self-sufficiency across the seasons, and the simple strategy that ties it all together; including goal-setting, tracking data, succession planting (“one out, one in”), and focusing on staple crops first.

By the end, you’ll have a clear, practical blueprint you can adapt to your own space whether you’re aiming to feed one person on a mostly plant-based diet, or support two people eating a mixed diet. This is...
