Tortura. Desapariciones. Malos tratos. Detenciones arbitrarias.

RT @CSISEST: "The test of Genesis's success is institutional: whether it strengthens the United States' capacity to coordinate, implement, and sustain focus on grand challenges across its federated research ecosystem."

In their latest analysis, CSIS EST President @NGirishankar and Associate Fellow Christopher Borges explore some critical questions. Unless it can overcome the challenges of coordinating the federated U.S. scientific enterprise, the Genesis Mission risks becoming another well-intentioned initiative that produces impressive technical demonstrations but fails to transform how U.S. science operates.

RT @HillelNeuer: .@FranceskAlbs “Who??”

TRAGIC: Francesca Albanese, the UN's de facto Hamas spokesperson, has been devastated by U.S. sanctions:

🔹 “I have a private medical insurance and they refused to reimburse me, because I'm sanctioned by the U.S.”

🔹 “The European Union Parliament invited me for a talk recently, they booked a room for me — and it was canceled, because it was in my name.”

🔹 “Even financial transactions that have nothing to do with me but have my name on it—for example, you try to transfer one pound, or one dollar, or one euro to your friends with my name in it—it won't pass.”

🔹“I am banned from entering the United States. I couldn't present my report to the General Assembly, because my diplomatic visa was withdrawn, and another visa was not renewed — not even to go just to present the report.”

🔹 “I have personal interests in the U.S. We have an apartment in Washington. We used to go there, so it touches me personally.”

🔹 “So no credit card, no possibility to be paid, no possibility to receive payments.”

🔹 “And it's much harsher than that because, you are in a city, all my apps for financial transactions have been cut.”

🔹 “My bank account has had to be closed, and I had it in the U.S., and I was not able to open it in any other countries where I've tried.

🔹 “Even my medical insurance refused to reimburse me.”

RT @ErikaGuevaraR: 🇺🇸🚨 New Amnesty Report exposes horrific human rights violations in #Florida’s immigration detention centers “Alligator Alcatraz” and Krome.

🔴 Torture, forced disappearances, inhumane conditions, and systemic cruelty under policies that criminalize migration.

📢 We call for closure of Alligator Alcatraz, an end to mass detention, and accountability.

RT @deviatar: Replying to @alexbward @shelbyholliday: Even if the survivors were planning to continue to transport drugs, that didn’t make them lawful targets. The boat wasn’t a lawful target in the first place. There is no war. Just the Trump administration summarily executing people in blatant violation of the law.

The details of the strike have emerged as a matter of concern for members of Congress who are seeking details about the role played by Bradley and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and whether aspects of the operation violated laws of war or Pentagon procedures. - Alex Ward
