Lebontják az emberi identitást, és megfosztanak a személyes autonómiánktól: először a vallási, kulturális, rasszbeli, majd a nemzeti és nemi önazonosságokat bontották, bontják le. A végén csak az emberi test és emberként való átélés maradna, de az sem fog, mert virtualizálják az életünket. Az örök élet vagyis a halál legyőzésének ígérete pedig az, hogy a tudatunkat feltöltik majd egy felhőbe és a virtuális világban tovább élhetünk. Ez a sötét jövő.
