Important Announcement: Updated Paper Submission Deadline – ICCKE 2025

Dear Authors and Researchers,

We hope this message finds you well.

In light of the recent and ongoing disruptions in internet connectivity across the country, which have significantly impacted access to academic resources and submission platforms, the ICCKE 2025 Organizing Committee has decided to revise the paper submission schedule.

We recognize the considerable challenges faced by researchers in uploading their work, accessing scientific databases, and coordinating with co-authors during this period. Ensuring fairness and inclusivity for all contributors — particularly those affected by these unforeseen infrastructural limitations — remains a top priority for us.

Therefore, the paper submission deadline has been rescheduled to July 22, 2025. We hope this extended timeline will offer sufficient opportunity for authors to finalize and submit their work without compromising quality due to external constraints.

We deeply appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support. Our commitment is to uphold the scientific integrity and collaborative spirit that define ICCKE, and we remain dedicated to providing a platform that accommodates the needs of our diverse and global research community.

Should you have any questions or need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

With sincere regards,

Talk Title: Telling Machines What To Do: How Machine Learning Can Help

Abstract:
It is immensely empowering to delegate information processing work to machines and have them carry out difficult tasks on our behalf. But programming computers is hard. The traditional approach to this problem is to try to fix people: They should work harder to learn to code. In this talk, I argue that a promising alternative is to meet people partway. Specifically, powerful new approaches to machine learning provide ways to infer intent from disparate signals and could help make it easier for everyone to get computational help with their vexing problems.

Biography:
Michael L. Littman is a University Professor of Computer Science and Associate Provost for Artificial Intelligence at Brown University. His research, which focuses on machine learning and decision-making under uncertainty, has been recognized with three best-paper awards and three influential paper awards. He received an Outstanding Educator award for his contributions to AI teaching and outreach. Littman is a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence and the Association for Computing Machinery and recently served as Division Director for Information and Intelligent Systems at the National Science Foundation. His book, "Code to Joy: Why Everyone Should Learn a Little Programming" was published in October 2023 by MIT Press.

Join us for this thought-provoking keynote exploring how machine learning can bring humans and machines closer together—not by forcing people to learn more code, but by enabling machines to better understand us.

Talk Title: Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)-Native Wireless Systems with Common Sense

Abstract:
Next-generation wireless systems, such as 6G and beyond, are expected to tightly embed artificial intelligence (AI) into their design, giving rise to what is termed AI-native wireless systems. However, despite major academic, industrial, and standardization efforts, the very definition of such systems remains unclear. Current approaches often extend conventional AI for wireless paradigms using classical tools like autoencoders or large-language models to replicate existing functionalities. These approaches face inherent limitations, including opaque AI models, curve-fitting tendencies, dependency on massive datasets, and poor generalizability to unseen scenarios.

In this talk, Prof. Saad introduces a bold, pioneering framework for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)-native wireless systems. By fusing wireless systems, digital twins, and AI, this architecture brings “common sense” to networks, modeled after human cognition, and based on three components: Perception, World model, Action-planning.

This AGI architecture will enable networks to reason, plan, imagine, and think deeply, leading to unprecedented levels of generalizability, explainability, and cognitive capability. Prof. Saad will present key research results combining AI, theory of mind, digital twins, and game theory, showing how this framework can reduce data needs while boosting reliability — essential for future services like connected intelligence, extended reality, and holography. He will conclude with emerging opportunities at the intersection of wireless communications and AI.

Biography:
Walid Saad (S’07, M’10, SM’15, F’19) is the Rolls Royce Commonwealth Professor in Digital Twin Technology and Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech, where he leads the Network intelligEnce, Wireless, and Security (NEWS) Laboratory. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Oslo, Norway, in 2010.

His research spans wireless networks (5G/6G/beyond), machine learning, game theory, quantum communications/learning, UAVs, semantic communications, cyber-physical systems, and network science. Prof. Saad is a Fellow of IEEE and recipient of numerous awards, including the NSF CAREER Award (2013), ONR Young Investigator Award (2015), IEEE ComSoc Marconi Prize Award (2023), and IEEE ComSoc Award for Advances in Communication (2023).

He has co-authored twelve conference best paper awards, received multiple IEEE Communications Society recognitions, and is listed annually in the Clarivate Highly Cited Researchers list since 2019. Prof. Saad is the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking and serves as an Area Editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications.
