At the time locals pleaded with "politicians" not to go ahead with the ethnic cleansing measure. I documented this highly charged town meeting. In this case unfortunately it didn't change anything, but the regime remain deathly afraid of such activity. Local people voicing their concerns and communicating with each other in an open forum unsupervised by "NGOs", and recorded for the world and posterity to see. It holds the billionaires and their agents eternally responsible. They cannot pretend it was anything but fiercely opposed by their oppressed subjects. The meetings themselves expose the totalitarian fragility of the regime, how it is the polar opposite of democracy, and fear of further meetings forces them to triple down, unabashedly opposing the most basic of social human activities - a community meeting.
