IRSP Ard Chomhairle member Maria Quinn;

“The mentality and attitude of resistance that Volunteer Joe Craven carried at his very core remains engrained in the movement to this very day. We are guided by it, we encourage our communities to embody it it guides our decisions inside our working class bases and politically, as we continue to develop nationally.”

“Neil always understood colonialism and occupation and without fail sided with the oppressed. He would be urging his friends in Sinn Fein to persuade their leadership to stand with those in Palestine by refusing to attend the St Patrick’s day celebrations in the White House”

IRSP Ard Chomhairle member Sean Carlin addressing the annual Neil McMonagle commemoration in Derry on Sunday, 41 years since he was killed by the colonial SAS.

A strong message of support for Palestine was sent.

Today we remember Volunteer Gino Gallagher on this his 28th anniversary. Gino was assassinated by counter revolutionaries and state agents, acting with impunity from their handlers in Mi5.

Gino is rightfully credited with re-organising and re-building the Movement in Belfast at a time when certain individuals were hell bent on destroying it.

We will never forget him.

Our thoughts are with the family of Aaron Bushnell who bravely sacrificed his life for the Palestinian people yesterday at the gates of the “Israeli” embassy in Washington.

Such an act of bravery can be hard to understand, but these acts of courage are founded on, and a last resort in the struggle for what is right.

The IRSP have experienced such losses during the 1981 Hunger Strikes, we understand the sense of bravery and pride conflicting with the feeling of tragedy.

The suffering that Aaron publicly endured is a fraction of what the Palestinian people endure en masse on a daily basis as they face open genocide by the Zionist regime supported, funded and facilitated by the West.

Yahya Sinwar, leader of the Palestinian resistance, died fighting until his last breath.

Born in a refugee camp, he dedicated his life to the struggle for the freedom of Palestine and its people.

His death, and the circumstances surrounding it, will inspire a new generation of resistance against Israeli imperialism.

He will be remembered in history alongside the greatest anti-imperialists and freedom fighters.

“The greatest gift the enemy can give me is to kill me. I want to die a martyr at the hands of the enemy.”
