Yesterday, our Discussion Group hosted a discussion about potential new features that Niantic could add to Ingress. This sparked a question: what are the community's most frequent Feature Requests for Ingress?

We have created a Google Form where you can tell us what new feature you'd like to see in Ingress, which existing feature you'd like to see changed or which feature you'd like to see removed! We'll collect the answers and present them in this channel in a few days. Note that you don't have to answer every question, if you just want to tell us which feature you'd like to see removed, for example, that is also possible: just leave the rest of the questions empty!

Heading to Fantasy Basel someday from May 9th to May 11th? Keep your eye out for an NIA operative in Hall 1.1!

The NIA will conduct field monitoring at Fantasy Basel! An NIA operative will assume the cover of a Niantic staffmember to not stand out in the crowd, should you come across them you can come into contact with them via the following passphrase:

"Agents everywhere, all at once"

Giving this passphrase to the NIA operative will result in them giving you a small support package from the NIA. Keep an eye out!

Niantic released Ingress Prime v2.141.1 to the App Store and Play Store!

In the changelog for this new version, the introduction of icons for the Attack, Inventory and COMM swipe gestures is mentioned, although we were not able to find any difference in these icons comparing this new update and the previous one.

Bugfixes for this update involve the retry logic for purchases in the in-app store, the new Beacon Icon in Kinetic Capsules and the display of long noscripts in the News Feed list.

The update is on rollout, so it might be a little while before it reaches your device.

Niantic has announced a new Wayfarer Challenge!

This time the focus of this challenge are edits! Wayfinders will need to work together to resolve as many outstanding edits as possible to reach a global goal for rewards as well as to reach personal goals for personal rewards. The rewards themselves are not known yet and, although likely, the presence of an OPR Live badge tick among personal rewards has not been confirmed yet.

The countries that will be visited are Japan, USA and Germany which have the biggest backlogs of edits at the moment. While you'll still recieve normal nominations to review you'll see a higher number of edits than normal during the challenge.

This challenge will take place starting May 15, 2024 at 20:00 UTC through May 22, 2024 at 20:00 UTC.

We are heading into the first Anomaly weekend of the Buried Memories series! Agents from all across the world will battle it out in Naha, Japan to earn important points for their faction.

Niantic has added two new Store items to prepare for the event: A pack of 5 Aegis Shields and a pack for 10 VR Portal Shields for 9,500 CMU each. As far as we can tell there is no purchase limit imposed on these packs.

A new episode of the Ingress Report has been released! Alicia Moyer was convinced to continue her cooperation with NotNianticLabs on new episodes after the overwhelmingly positive response for the first episode, posted at the start of April.
