Niantic has announced that the Shard Skirmish in Porto Alegre, Brazil that was planned to be held on August 24th has been canceled after input from local Agents. The site will not award any Anomaly points to either faction.

🇹🇷 PSA to all Agents in Türkiye!

Niantic has announced a while back that the team is working on removing Foursquare portals Türkiye and re-enabling Machina. There Portal removals are now ready and will happen in the near future.

All Foursquare Portals will be removed, even if they have been updated since they were added to the game via Title/Denoscription edits or if they have received a picture. If you know of such Portals or have Portals with important Links, make sure to screenshot them. After the Portals have been removed you can appeal them to Niantic via the Wayfarer Forums and have them and any potentially broken Link restored.

Alicia Moyer has released a short video regarding the new Dispatch Operations Center: "Scanner Update: Field Test Dispatch"!

The Field Test has started in New Zealand! Agent @Grogyan has shared this screenshot with us, showing how the interface for the Campaign screen looks like.

From this, we can see that there is a counter for which faction is currently in the lead with most Assignments completed! We can also see that the single Bounties will likely award AP while completing a page can reward Agents with items like 3 Apex!

Agent Hightower has shared an infographic with the required tasks per assignment that Agents need to complete! These tasks are the same for everyone and 3 out of the 4 tasks need to be completed before moving on to the next Assignment.

Once you have completed all six assignments you can restart the Campaign once per day with the same tasks and rewards, with the exception that the Rewards for Assignment 2 and 6 are changed into 20 Ultra Strikes and 3 VRBB respectively!

Field Test: Dispatch - FAQ

🔸During what timeframe is the event active?
- August 23rd 10am Local Time to September 2nd 10am Local Time

🔸What do I have to do to get the Badge?
- Complete 2 pages of the Assignments to get the Bronze medal, complete all 6 pages for the Silver medal

🔸How do I complete a page?
- Each page contains 4 tasks. You have to finish at least 3 tasks to advance to the next page, one task per page can be skipped. Do note though that once you advance to a new page you cannot return to the previous page, therefore "deleting" the skipped task

🔶Will I still get the rewards if I skip a Bounty?
- You will not recieve the reward for that single Bounty (500AP + point for your faction), but you'll still recieve the reward for completing a page (3x Apex, Badges etc.)

🔸Do the tasks refresh after a day?/Do I have to do all pages in a day?
- No, the tasks stay the same during the entire event and progress will not be deleted. You have until the end of the event to complete the pages in your own pace

🔸Do the daily tasks count?
- No, the daily tasks are completely separate and do not affect the event tasks (and vice versa)

🔸I don't want to get the badge. Do I have to stop playing to avoid getting it?
- No, you will only receive the badge after the second page, however you have to manually advance from the first page beforehand. As long as you don't claim the rewards from the first page you will not get the badge

🔸Do actions taken during a certain page count towards tasks on a later page?
- No, the tasks will only start tracking your actions once the page they are on is active. If you capture Portals during the second page it will not count for the "Capture 20 Portals" tasks on the third page, for example

🔸Will there be a winner for this event?
- Yes, the faction that completes the most tasks during the event will win the event, however it will have no influence on the Shared Memories Anomaly score or any other influences

🔸Do the Missions for the "Complete 6 Missions" have to be new?
- Yes, the Missions must be ones you have never done before. You cannot replay Missions you have already done, they have to increase your SpecOps medal statistic

🔶Do friendly Links count for the "Destroy 20/30 Links" tasks (via flipcard)?
- No, only enemy Links destroyed are counted. You cannot destroy friendly links via a flipcard for these tasks

🚨Due to approaching category 2 typhoon "Shanshan" with winds up to 175 km/h, the Points of Contact for the Japanese Shard Skirmishes in Takamatsu and Sasebo have asked Niantic to cancel the upcoming events scheduled for August 31st.

To prioritise the safety of Agents, Niantic has decided to accept the request and therefore officially cancelled the Shared Memories Shard Skirmishes of Sasebo and Takamatsu.

Niantic released a new update to Ingress Prime, v2.149.1!

In this version, the team added a new Layer which, if enabled, will highlight the Portals you own keys for on your map view.
Just like all other Layers, this one can also be inverted: tap the same Layer icon again to highlight the Portals you don't own keys for.

The update is rolling out to all Agents in the next couple of days.

As previously announced by Niantic, in preparation to the activation of Machina in Türkiye, the team has removed all the Portals which were previously imported from the Foursquare database, from Ingress.
Additionally, we are receiving reports that FourSquare-imported portals were also removed from other countries such as India, Brazil, Poland and Philippines.

At the moment, Machina is not active in Türkiye, but this may change in the upcoming days.

We are currently collecting more info about this removal directly contacting Niantic, since it was not announced for other countries outside Türkiye. At the moment, no comment was released (it's still very early in the US).

Today, the Field Test on the Dispatch feature ends at 10:00 local time.

Although this newly introduced Field Test hasn't ended in every timezone yet, for those Agents located in timezones where 10:00 has already passed, The Resistance was already announced as the winner of the challenge on their scanner since they are ahead in terms of score at the moment. (The result is not decided, but extrapolated from the numerical score by the Scanner App)

Some Agents noticed this and reported the weird behaviour on Twitter (or X) and Brian Rose acknowledged it adding that "the Team is reviewing options for the next Event".

The Field Test: Dispatch event is over!

At the end of the event, the score of the factions and thus the distribution of completed bounties is as follows:

The Resistance has completed more bounties and therefore wins the Field Test! Remember though that this victory has no effect on the Shared Memories series and therefore stands “alone”.
