Second Sunday has begun in New Zealand and we now know what tasks you can do to gain a point for the badge!

You need to complete one of the following tasks:
- Complete 6 all time unique Missions (NEW missions, redoing old ones wont work!)
- Earn Scout Controller on 5 Portals
- Visit 5 all time unique Portals (again, new, never before visited Porals)
- Reclaim 20 Machina Portals

Only one task can actually be claimed, so focus on one specific one! Once you have claimed it you will get your point for the Second Sunday medal, the other three tasks do not have to be completed.

Agents are reporting that they're currently unable to claim the Bounties for the Erased Memories Global Operation campaign, making progressing impossible. This seems to be a global issue that has started a few hours ago, as such, a fix from Niantic will likely be needed. We will keep you updated on any new information.

Erased Memories Rules Pt. 6 - NIA TKO Challenges

Every Anomaly Site normally hosts 3 NIA TKO Challenges, organized by GORUCK.

🔸Stealth Ops and Urban Ops
A series of competitive, physical challenges which are disputed respectively in the night before or the morning of the Anomaly. These events contribute to the score of an Anomaly Site, distributing 7 Season Points per challenge to the two factions.

🔸Operation Clear Field
An optionally crossfaction service-themed scavenger hunt with competitive Ingress exploration. Usually held the morning after the Anomaly.

All these are paid events hosted by GORUCK, and participants will obtain a patch of the event they participated in, and a point on their respective Ingress Badge.
If you are willing to put your own physical strength and power on the line to help your Faction in first person, this is the perfect way to do so!

Niantic has revealed the design of the Erased Memories medals, which you can see in the picture above! For the first time ever, C.O.R.E. subscribers will be able to purchase a special version of the Supporter Medal for this series as well as the normal one!

As a reminder, the Anomaly Medal can be obtained by participating in Anomaly Events or contributing locally in Skirmish Events in Q4 2024.

The Supporter Medal and its special C.O.R.E. version can be purchased in the in-app store during the Anomaly Series together with a gear loadout for 30.800 CMU each!

Erased Memories Rules Pt. 7 and final - Purchasable Medals

The customary Series Supporter medal, two new character medals and a character medal from the Archives will be released in the in-game store during the anomaly Series.

Niantic has revealed the two new Glyphs - Refresh and Speed (left and right respectively) - which were previously announced in the celebration post for the 10 years of partnership with ITO EN and SoftBank. These Glyphs will enter the Portal Network later this month via Glyph Sequences, with SPEED also becoming a new Glyph Command to only hack Keys from a portal.

We will update you once we know more about the activation of the new Glyphs in the game.

Niantic published their official partial results of the Erased Memories Global Campaign, with 6 days to go before the end!

At the moment, the score stands at
ENL 97.5 - 102.5 RES
with the Resistance completing an average of 9.76 Bounties per Agent, and the Enlightened averaging 9.57 Bounties per Agent.

The 200 Season Points at stake for this challenge can go to either Faction and, as we saw in the previous Series, every point (and every Bounty) can make the difference!

Agents are reporting that the "Speed" and "Refresh" glyphs, which we previously reported on, have been enabled in-game by Niantic!

As expected, the "Speed" Glyph can be used as a command before the Glyph sequence appears to limit the hack output to only keys, removing any other item. Current rules concerning the amount of keys in the hack output are apparently still valid.

Niantic has revealed the Dark XM Hank - Halloween 2024 medal that will be available during the Halloween week!

The following message was intercepted by the NIA, theorized to originate from Azmazi:

I saw him rise, bathed in red, XM surging, eyes empty. Not a vision of passion, but a cold premonition.

Reports from Agents have informed us that players on various Android devices (particularly Pixel phones, though more may be affected) may currently be unable to access Ingress.

This is due to the fact a recent security update by Google causes a fingerprint check put in place by Google to fail, and in turns causes the Play Integrity API's Strong Integrity check - required by Ingress to boot up correctly - to fail.

Additional reports from users online state that the Android 15 update also caused some Pixel 6 devices to completely brick, or become unresponsive.

Due to the nature of the Play Integrity API and Google's secretive way of handling the issue, there is no publicly provided timeline for correction of the issue at the moment and likely there won't be one at all.

We advise to, if possible, wait before updating your Android 15 device until the issue is resolved on Google's part.

Niantic's Tintino has posted more details about the previously announced Wayfarer Challenge on the Wayfarer Forums!

The challenge, this time, will also introduce Edit Contributions as part of the challenge, a way to improve your score during the event.

The Wayfarer Challenge will start on October 30th @ 19:00 UTC and will end on November 11th @ 18:00 UTC with more information about participating countries to be revealed in the next few days.

Niantic has released Update 2.153.1 into the App Stores!

The two new REFRESH and SPEED glyphs have been "officially" added as well as the "ONLY KEY" command using SPEED. Additionally, a crash was fixed which involved trying to open a page via WebView on Android 14, which should fix an issue that led to Ingress crashing when attempting to open Campfire via the Scanner.

Agents are reporting that there are issues with redeeming Bounties again, specifically for Agents from Europe. This is likely due to ending Daylight Savings last night which set the clocks back by an hour and confusing the code that keeps track of how long the Bounties can be claimed for.

To be exact, it seems this issue appears for Agents that:
- Had their time set back by an hour last night
- Opened their Scanner before the time was set back (12pm-4am, depending on your exact location)

This issue extends to both Daily Bounties as well as the Erased Memories Campaign Bounties. We will keep you updated with any news from Niantic or the Community.

Niantic announced the final results for the Erased Memories Global Campaign!

🔵 The Resistance came out on top, bringing home the first advantage in this series! The final score was
ENL 97.4 - 102.6 RES

As a piece of statistics provided by Niantic, the average number of completed bounties was 12.2 for the Resistance and 11.9 for the Enlightened.

Congratulations, Agents! The Erased Memories Series now continues with the XM Anomalies of November 2nd!
