Agents are reporting that the "Speed" and "Refresh" glyphs, which we previously reported on, have been enabled in-game by Niantic!

As expected, the "Speed" Glyph can be used as a command before the Glyph sequence appears to limit the hack output to only keys, removing any other item. Current rules concerning the amount of keys in the hack output are apparently still valid.

Niantic has revealed the Dark XM Hank - Halloween 2024 medal that will be available during the Halloween week!

The following message was intercepted by the NIA, theorized to originate from Azmazi:

Reports from Agents have informed us that players on various Android devices (particularly Pixel phones, though more may be affected) may currently be unable to access Ingress.

This is due to the fact a recent security update by Google causes a fingerprint check put in place by Google to fail, and in turns causes the Play Integrity API's Strong Integrity check - required by Ingress to boot up correctly - to fail.

Additional reports from users online state that the Android 15 update also caused some Pixel 6 devices to completely brick, or become unresponsive.

Due to the nature of the Play Integrity API and Google's secretive way of handling the issue, there is no publicly provided timeline for correction of the issue at the moment and likely there won't be one at all.

We advise to, if possible, wait before updating your Android 15 device until the issue is resolved on Google's part.

Niantic's Tintino has posted more details about the previously announced Wayfarer Challenge on the Wayfarer Forums!

The challenge, this time, will also introduce Edit Contributions as part of the challenge, a way to improve your score during the event.

The Wayfarer Challenge will start on October 30th @ 19:00 UTC and will end on November 11th @ 18:00 UTC with more information about participating countries to be revealed in the next few days.

Niantic has released Update 2.153.1 into the App Stores!

The two new REFRESH and SPEED glyphs have been "officially" added as well as the "ONLY KEY" command using SPEED. Additionally, a crash was fixed which involved trying to open a page via WebView on Android 14, which should fix an issue that led to Ingress crashing when attempting to open Campfire via the Scanner.

Agents are reporting that there are issues with redeeming Bounties again, specifically for Agents from Europe. This is likely due to ending Daylight Savings last night which set the clocks back by an hour and confusing the code that keeps track of how long the Bounties can be claimed for.

To be exact, it seems this issue appears for Agents that:
- Had their time set back by an hour last night
- Opened their Scanner before the time was set back (12pm-4am, depending on your exact location)

This issue extends to both Daily Bounties as well as the Erased Memories Campaign Bounties. We will keep you updated with any news from Niantic or the Community.

Niantic announced the final results for the Erased Memories Global Campaign!

🔵 The Resistance came out on top, bringing home the first advantage in this series! The final score was

As a piece of statistics provided by Niantic, the average number of completed bounties was 12.2 for the Resistance and 11.9 for the Enlightened.

This weekend the first XM Anomalies of the season are scheduled to be held in Tainan, Taiwan and Valencia, Spain. Sadly both regions have been hit or are about to be hit with major weather events.

Valencia, Spain has been hit with the biggest flood in 30 years, dumping 1 year of rain in just a few days at 491mm, leading to flooding and the death of over 70 people. The Prime minister of Spain has declared three days of mourning, starting tomorrow, which encompasses Fridays Goruck as well as Saturdays main Anomaly event.

Tainan, Taiwan is about to be hit with the so called Super Typhoon Kong-rey, which is expected to make landfall at Taiwan's east coast tomorrow. With heavy rain and strong winds predicted, it is expected to be the largest storm in three decades. Almost the entire island has been given a Sea and Land Typhoon red alert, including Tainan City.

⚠️ At the moment, Niantic has not released any official announcement regarding the events or an eventual postponement/cancellation. If they will go ahead as scheduled, we urge you to take precautions and to follow the guidelines of the region you are traveling to. However you should also take at least mental preparations in case Niantic does postpone/cancel an event.

Just in time for Halloween, Niantic has enabled orange XM to decorate the streets during the spookiest season of the year! It is currently unknown how long the orange XM will stay.

A new Wayfarer Challenge has started! This time the focus is not on reviewing, but rather on submitting edits to existing Wayspots!

Specifically, the task is to submit edits for noscripts, denoscriptions, locations as well as to submit new pictures to improve the quality of Wayspots.

As with every challenge there are rewards to gain! For Ingress, you can get a lot of items, including a tick for the OPR Live medal for submitting 150 Edits!

The Challenge will run from October 30, 2024 at 7:00 PM UTC to November 13, 2024 at 7:00 PM UTC.

Niantic has just announced that all Anomaly events in Valencia this weekend have been canceled due to the flooding.

Niantic is looking into future events in Valencia, but urges Agents to avoid car travels and movement within the city as to not limit the work of emergency services.

The Erased Memories Anomaly in Tainan, Taiwan is currently ongoing!

Agent @markymarkmark sent us some videos from the GORUCK Urban Ops event that was held in the morning before the start of the Anomaly.

Both the Stealth Ops and Urban Ops were captured by the Resistance with the scores of 5-1 and 3-0 respectively!

Having the Anomaly Event already started, some Agents were able to obtain the Erased Memories Anomaly Medal while playing.

Unfortunately, we also received some reports of this Badge not being placed with the other Anomaly Badges once obtained.
Niantic is already aware of the issue and is working on a fix!

Sunday, during an anomaly weekend, is normally dedicated to the Mission Day!

Agent @markymarkmark shared with us his experience of the Mission Day in Tainan, Taiwan. The local administration was involved in the organisation of the whole weekend and, today, a free meat bun was awarded to the Agents who tackled the 6 missions necessary to complete the challenge, courtesy of the Mayor!

An Ingress-themed physical medal was also awarded to Agents!
