The Ingress team has released Update 2.175.2 into the App Stores.

This update does not bring any new visible features for Agents and focuses on an update to the game engine.

The same experimental loadout that Niantic has made available on their merch store is now also available for 54k CMU, which is around $29,99 if you buy the 90k CMU pack.

The loadout on the web store is not advertised as a "First Saturday" loadout anymore, probably because they would not arrive in time for this Saturday.

We were recently alerted to a security vulnerability in Unity (the game engine we use) that affects Agents on Android, and we have a patch for this CVE in Ingress 2.175.2. Please update to the latest version of Ingress.

Some more information from Unity themselves, the security issue is not the fault of Niantic.

The Ingress team has just released Update 2.176.1 into the App Stores!

The hack output that appears after hacking a Portal now automatically disappears 2 seconds after it appears, which mimics other toast notifications in the game. You can still tap directly on the output window to dismiss it before that.

🕸 A new Premium Campaign has been announced in the Dispatch screen, tying into Halloween later this month: the Sp1d3r Web 2025 Event!

From the looks of it this Campaign will start on the 13th and will award you with a new Sp1d3r Web 2025 medal for completing it. It also seems like we will see a new livery for the NL-1331 van avatar in the form of the Spider-Van, although it is unclear if this variant of the Avatar will be permanent. It is also unclear how much this Campaign will cost at the moment.

We are awaiting more concrete details from the team and will update you on @IUENG once they are available!

📝 INVALID PORTAL REPORTS

Invalid Portals are now able to be reported again following the latest Ingress update.

What’s not mentioned in the update notes is that you can now add a photo to your Invalid Portal Report to help highlight the issue just like you can on Pokémon GO in a totally unique idea by Niantic Spatial!

We're currently investigating an issue affecting some Android users. If you're seeing any "Ingress isn't responding" error messages, temporarily disabling Adventure Sync may help. Go to Settings > Adventure Sync > disable Distance Tracker and Nearby Alerts.

Ingress Prime was updated to Version 2.177.1 last Friday with the Update slowly making its way to Agents around the world.

This update returns the menu for reporting invalid Portals, but also adds a new feature with it: You can now attach a picture when reporting a Portal! This picture will be used by the team to determine the eligibility of a Portal on the Game Board, together with the comment you can add during the reporting flow. This picture is optional and you can still report a Portal without it.

A small change was also observed when you are looking at your own profile, now hiding the medal requirements you'd need to reach the next Level when you already have Recursed as that means you must already have the required medals to meet the level up requirements once again.
