This is how authoritarian the liberal press have become....
A lawyer, in all seriousness, discusses whether Tucker Carlson can be prosecuted under the 1917 Espionage Act for interviewing Putin.
Tucker's initial announcement is carefully worded, to emphasize his good intentions for the American people, as is legally necessary, it turns out.
The elephant in the room is of course the case of Assange, who isn't even a US citizen to have been accused of treason in the US.

Putin to Oliver Stone:
Have you ever been beaten in your life?
Stone: Beaten? Oh yes, I was.
Putin: Then nothing new to get used to, because for this film you will get that.
Stone: Yeah, but it's worth it.

Hillary pitches in on Tucker Carlson being a useful idiot.
By giving someone a platform to voice their side of things - he can't correlate his reporting with the truth, you see.
"Why did Trump believe Putin and not our 11 intelligence agencies".... we could ask Colin Powell, why.

"That poisonous moron Victoria Nuland" - Tucker Carlson on the US State Department's obsession with regime change to a weak leadership in a large, multiethnic & nuclear Russia.
Imagine running all that - not for the faint of heart.

First 30 minutes of interview go through 1000+ years of Russian history, starting with how Rurik the Viking colonized the lands (800AD) 😂😂😂😂😂
Still relevant. Putin illustrated just how far back this story goes - where as many Americans only heard of "Ukraine" 2 years ago.

Symbolically, today, in 1667, the Truce of Andrusovo was signed. Putin speaks about this agreement around 11 minutes in.
The treaty between Russia and Poland allowed for the Left Bank of Ukraine and (temporarily occupied) Kiev to come under the authority of Moscow.
Note the center/east has always been green (Russia) & Zaporozhye was recognized as condominium of both states. Both Poland and Russia agreed on a common defense against the Ottoman Empire.

An interesting take: George Webb, US investigative journalist, offers a couple of shortcomings of the Putin/Tucker interview, in his view.
1) Timing of release: The interview overshadowed Trump's Court victory in Las Vegas, a speech opportunity lost. This doesn't help uphold Americans' right to choose their candidates (criticism for Tucker.)
2) Omissions: The name Kolomoisky never came up (Zelensky's sugar daddy who has a connection to East-Med pipeline), the
East-Med pipeline itself, the Trans-Arabia pipeline, Israel's Ben Gurion Canal, the Gaza war, and the whole "Southern route".
This is an alternative line for getting natural gas to Europe, bypassing Ukraine, as backed by Atlantic Council policy & Genie Energy in the occupied Golan Heights.
That's really a lot to unpack quickly.
In Tucker's defense, he did say the interview is about the Ukraine war only. Webb is suggesting it could have been tighter & focused on geopolitical aspects that seek to prevent America & Russia from "making the same mistakes."
I doubt Putin isn't aware of all causes of the war, as Webb states - my impression is Putin had different PR objectives. But an interesting take none the less.
Part 2, Tucker?
