Attention all tech enthusiasts! After our electrifying IS TALKs session on RESTful APIs, it’s time to take your knowledge from theory to reality! We challenged the brightest Information Systems students to build something incredible using any API they could find – and the results are in! 🏆🔥

• Use an API from RapidAPI or any other source to build a website or mobile app.
• Showcase creativity, problem-solving, and technical prowess.
• Push the code to GitHub, attach a demo, and even host the app for extra points! 🌐

These seven projects will be the contenders for this version of the competition. However, it would be such an awesome experience and exposure for everyone to continue building such apps and sites that utilize free APIs online. Therefore, I would appreciate every student from every department and school in universities and colleges to participate in the next round we will finalize on April 15. MealGenie is an AI-powered app that suggests personalized meals based on your ingredients, dietary restrictions, and allergies. Built with Flask (backend) and HTML/CSS/JS (frontend), it uses AI for recipe generation. Winner of the MLH Best AI Application at DubHacks '24, the app also includes a mini bot (@meal_genie_bot). Future plans include UI improvements and nutrition tracking.
