The source code of the TDLib library has been updated to the current version 1.7
TDLib is used to write third party Telegram clients. Telegram X for Android, Unigram and the new Webogram work on its basis.
The new version of the library supports:
- Threads, and comments.
- Multipins.
- Video calls.
- Playlists (files in albums).
- Number of views of Instant View articles.
- Sending files in 2 GB.
- Statistics in channels and supergroups.
- Animated photos.
- Reposts of entries in the article.
- Anonymous admins in the group.
- Notification of the approach to live location.
- Messages that could not be sent can now be found using the
- Preview of private channels by their invite link.
- Much more.

🎄 Torna “Natale secondo me”, il podcast partecipato di Florence TV.
La redazione di Florence TV (@florencetv) lancia per il secondo anno consecutivo il format audio “Natale secondo me” (#NataleSecondoMe), già testato con successo nel 2019. Si tratta di un podcast partecipato, realizzato con i messaggi vocali dei cittadini che vogliono parteciparvi. L'iniziativa è rivolta ai cittadini di Firenze e dell'area metropolitana, ma anche di tutta la Toscana e, perché no, delle altre regioni d’Italia.
A chi fosse interessato a partecipare, la redazione chiede un contributo vocale della durata massima di 2 minuti, nel quale raccontare le proprie sensazioni sul Natale: un aneddoto felice che risale ai tempi dell’infanzia, un messaggio di speranza per questo Natale 2020 alle porte.

Previews for Instagram posts
Over the past few months Instagram post previews have been unstable or not working at all.
This is caused because of some weirdness of Instagram, which is owned by Facebook: under undefined circumstances, Instagram does not return the required data (OpenGraph tags). This data is used by third-party services to generate previews.
At the same time, in WhatsApp (also owned by Facebook), this function continued to work, apparently due to the special access mode provided by Facebook.
Got to mention, in 2016 Instagram tried to block Telegram and Snapchat links, but after user complains the developers rolled the change back.

Updated interface for group calls on Android
The beta version of Telegram for Android has received an updated interface for group calls.
Now the call page can be minimized by clicking on the corresponding button or swiping down.
The chat indicator will be visible not only in Telegram, but also outside the messenger. This icon can be moved across the screen or hidden altogether, the call does not stop from this.

Sidebar changes
In the Beta version of Telegram for Android, there have been minor changes to the sidebar.
What's new:
- The items "New secret chat" and "New channel" are gone.
- The item "People nearby" has been moved from the "Contacts" menu to the main list.
Perhaps now this function will be used more often.
On the left is the old version, on the right is the new one.

EU added Telegram and VKontakte to "piracy tracking list"
The European Commission has published a list of resources that promote and can benefit from piracy. It includes resources located outside the EU. For the first time, Telegram appears in the report.
This year, a new category has been added to the report - social networks. While the list is limited to Telegram and VK.com. Both companies objected to their listing. Telegram has informed the European Commission that it will promptly remove content that violates laws within 24 hours. VKontakte also detailed its anti-piracy policy.
