🎄 German and British troops fraternizing during the Christmas Truce of 1914 during the first winter of WWI, when along portions of the front soldiers from both sides laid aside their arms and engaged in Christmas celebrations, carol singing, games, and trading. Unfortunately such activities were roundly condemned by the top brass on both sides and such a truce was not seen at later Christmases as the war progressed.
