"Notes on Complexity: A Scientific Theory of Connection, Consciousness, and Being" by Neil Theise

In Notes on Complexity, Neil Theise delves into the interconnected nature of life, consciousness, and the universe through complexity theory. He presents complexity as the organizing force of existence, where simple elements combine into dynamic, interdependent systems—from cells to ecosystems. Reflecting ancient spiritual insights, Theise suggests that understanding these patterns can deepen our sense of unity, purpose, and consciousness. This book is ideal for those intrigued by the intersection of science, spirituality, and the mysteries of existence.

Impressive images of the Notre Dame restoration in Paris - France 🇫🇷, as the long-awaited reopening is set for December 8th, with a special ceremony on the 7th

Fifteen million visitors are expected—and the bells have already begun to ring!
❤‍🔥11
The Notre Dame bells rang for the first time since the April 2019 fire and church on track to re-open on December 8, 2024.

In past 5 years, 250+ companies and 100s of artisans worked to restore the 861-year old cathedral based on medieval building plans:

▫️Arch Roof: Over 2,000 oak trees from French forests used to rebuild roof (using medieval ax cutting techniques).

▫️Transept crossing: Ultrasonic scans were used to see how medieval masonry work was done and arch was rebuilt stone by stone (stonecutters used traditional techniques).

▫️Grand Organ: Frances’s largest organ had its 8,000 pipes removed and cleaned.

There are some necessary modern touches, including a new water-misting system in roof to fight future fires.

The reconstruction efforts funded in large part by ~$1B from France’s 3 richest families (LVMH, Kering and L’Oreal).

Japan just launched a wooden (yes made of wood) satellite called LignoSat.

It is the world's first wooden satellite and I t'll stay in orbit for six months in an attempt to prove wood is a space-grade material.

It’s one step in Kyoto university’s long and distant dream of building timber houses on the moon and mars .

An often-overlooked detail in Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam:

God’s finger is fully extended, while Adam’s remains slightly bent—leaving a small yet profound gap between them.

The message?

Divine grace is always within reach, but it is up to us to extend our hand in return.
