For the third day: Nighttime shelling and a suffocating siege raise the death toll

The civilian death toll has risen to 8, with 57 civilians wounded, as a result of artillery, rocket, and tank shelling, in addition to drone strikes, carried out by factions affiliated with the Damascus government on the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods of Aleppo. For the third consecutive day, these factions continue to target populated areas in a systematic and bloody escalation against civilians.

During the night, these factions intensified their shelling of residential neighborhoods in a deliberate attempt to inflict the greatest possible number of casualties, taking advantage of the fact that residents were in their homes. Meanwhile, drones continued to fly over the two neighborhoods, coinciding with the deployment of new armored vehicles and tanks, and the mobilization of thousands of armed men, including foreign fighters, in a move aimed at tightening the siege and increasing the humanitarian pressure.

🚨The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) issued a statement accusing factions affiliated with the Damascus government of turning a civilian facility in Aleppo into a military site. Aleppo–Video-documented footage shows factions affiliated with the Damascus government converting a civilian service institution (the agricultural building) into a military headquarters and a tank base, where heavy machinery and tanks are stationed and used to shell the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods. The militarization of civilian facilities constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and a deliberate use of civilians and civilian infrastructure as human shields, revealing a systematic pattern of crimes that cannot be justified or denied.
