Sheikh Maqsoud Security Forces:

- Since January 6, 2026, gangs affiliated with the Damascus interim government have launched a brutal attack on our neighborhood, supported by Turkish state reconnaissance aircraft, tanks, artillery units, armored vehicles, and all kinds of heavy weapons, as well as thousands of gang members.

- Our forces decided to resist and defend their honor.

- No bowing down or surrender was accepted.

- Our forces sacrificed their lives without hesitation to defend the neighborhood and the honor of our people.

- A partial ceasefire has been declared to prevent further massacres and to evacuate the wounded, civilians, women, and children from the hospital to safe areas.

- Our struggle and resistance will continue.

Hundreds of civilians wounded in Sheikh Maqsoud, where HTS forces loyal to the Damascus government and SNA forces loyal to the Turkish state attacked with tanks, artillery, howitzers, mortars and kamikaze drones, have now arrived in Hasakah.

Drones targeted HTS and SNA positions that were targeting civilians in the town of al-Qashla, east of Aleppo.

Beginning on January 6, 2026, mercenary gangs affiliated with the Interim Damascus Government, with support from reconnaissance aircraft of the Turkish state, and using tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, and all types of heavy weapons, along with thousands of armed militants, launched a brutal attack on our neighborhoods.

These attacks aimed to subjugate our people in the neighborhoods to extermination, alter the demographic composition of the area, and break the dignity of our people.

However, our forces, based on a decision by the People's Council in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyah neighborhoods, made the decision to resist and defend their dignity.

On this basis, a sacrificial resistance was launched, and our fighters did not hesitate to offer their lives in defense of the neighborhoods and the dignity of our people. There was no retreat whatsoever, and surrender was not accepted. Information regarding the identities of the martyrs will be shared with the public at a later time.

During this phase of the war, our people were subjected to barbaric and violent attacks, resulting in numerous casualties and martyrs. The wounded gathered to receive treatment at the only hospital in the neighborhood, the Khalid Al-Fajr Hospital. The gangs targeted this hospital dozens of times with heavy weapons, in addition to Turkish Bayraktar drones, in an attempt to carry out a massacre inside it.

Ultimately, to prevent massacres and ensure the safe evacuation of the wounded, civilians, women, and children from the hospital and their transfer to secure areas, a partial ceasefire was declared. Our forces approached the ceasefire with a high sense of responsibility until the hospital was emptied and the wounded were evacuated.

From now on, our forces will continue, without hesitation and until the end, to follow in the footsteps of their martyrs in defense of the free will and dignity of our people. Our forces' resistance and struggle will persist through various means and methods.

Armed gangs that took civilians and Asayish (security) forces hostage were making the Grey Wolf sign with their hands raised; this clearly reveals the direct involvement of the Sultan Murad Turkmen militia group, which is affiliated with the Turkish state and is already on the sanctions list due to previous war crimes committed during the Sheikh Maqsoud massacres.

Sultan Murad and Suleyman Shah gangs group played an active role in the massacres.
