💥Clashes in Al Bab (Shehba Region)

This morning, gangs belonging to the invading Turkish state attempted to attack the village of El-Buihej in the eastern countryside of Al Bab city.

This attempt was foiled by the SDF fighters.

📌 Kurdish journalist Maroofian goes on hunger strike in Evin Prison in Tehran

She was arrested last Wednesday after a raid. Regime security forces forced their way into her apartment and beat the journalist. A day later, according to KHRN, she had to be temporarily hospitalized due to the violence she suffered. Information about her current health condition is not available.

Maroofian was sentenced to two years in prison in January for "propaganda against the state" in connection with her reporting on the death of Jina Mahsa Amini. She had recently left prison on bail. She was imprisoned again in July because, among other things, she had written about cases of sexual assaults on female prisoners in Iran.

In mid-August she ended up behind bars again, this time in Waramin, just 24 hours after her release. Maroofian, who, like Jina Mahsa Amini, comes from Seqiz in East Kurdistan and works for the media platform Rouydad 24 is also studying at Tehran's Allameh Tabatabai University.

☠️ Anti-Guerrilla Patrol Decimated in an Ambush in Philippines

Five anti-guerrilla paramilitaries of the Citizens Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) were killed on Friday September 1 in the locality of Mapulot (Tagkawayan, Quezon): the revolutionary guerrillas exploded an IED on the passage of their patrol before opening fire with automatic weaponry.

Three other paramilitaries as well as a soldier were injured in this ambush which is part of an offensive launched by the guerrilla warfare against the 85th infantry battalion of the Philippine army accused of abuses in the province of Quezon . This ambush comes less than two months after Quezon’s governor, Angelina Tan, and representatives of the army and the police declared the province “Rebel Free”

❓SNA (Turkey) and NDF (Syria) fighting together?

Maybe people are asking why the flag of the Syrian opposition is present under turkish flag and also as under Syrian flag, which may seem weird...

▪️This is a complex situation as a whole, for example while the syrian regime and iranian regime support creating destabilization in Deir ez-Zor, they do not want clashes to spread across other regions of Syria because this could lead to a turkish intervention under its SNA proxies.

🔸The so-called 'Syrian Opposition' does not work as is used to when it was formed in 2011, many factions under this flag have conflict interests and works according to their own views of the conflict. For example, many of them joined the ranks of SDF after their territory was liberated from ISIS from 2014 to 2019. For example: (Jaysh al-Salam, Jayš al-Thuwwār, Al-Baggara Tribe, 30th Infantry Division, Fursan al-Jazîra Brigades, etc - All still uses the Green-White-Black flag)

▪️Deir ez-Zor is a strategical region for the interests of Iran specially as the corridor that connects Iran to Lebanon goes through this region. In the map you can notice that 50% of the region is under regime control, thus the border with Iraq is under regime control. In the practice the present forces in the border in both sides are Iraninan-backed militias.

So they have their own interest in the region and supported Arab tribes to rise up against the AANES and SDF under the name of Islamic brotherhood and 'anti-imperialism' but the SNA faction in the occupied regions of Gire Spi, Serikaniye, Idlib and Afrin soon saw an opportunity on the situation and made calls to mobilization against SDF in different fronts - again under the pretext of "Arab tribes against SDF Kurds" which is a constructed narrative - when in fact, the SDF present in the region is made 95% of Arabs and has the support of local tribes.

▪️This is really complex and fixed but in the end, the attacks are under the interests of the states of the region - even when they clash among themselves, as it was in Mabij and Til Tamr where Syrian regime forces were killed.

🕊 Kurdish and internationalist youth started a long march for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan for the "Journey of Freedom" from Dortmund to Cologne.

The action organized under the slogan "Journey of Freedom with the Apoist Spirit" demands freedom for Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been held in isolation for 24 years and has not been heard from for 30 months.

▪️The action, which will conclude in Cologne on 8 September, is attended by around 40 internationalists from Germany, Switzerland, France, England, Spain, Italy and Bolivia, and over 200 young people from Kurdistan. On the first day of the march, the activists will march from Dortmund to Bochum.

The activists gathered at the Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DTKM) in Dortmund and organized a conference on Sunday under the slogan "Towards the Freedom of the Leader with Organized Youth" where they discussed the ideas of the Kurdish leader.
