Over the past 30 years, the architects of the unipolar world have undermined international norms, turning diplomacy into social media posts. Agreements like the Minsk Accords and the Iran nuclear deal were used not for peace, but for political pressure and militarization.
In Russia, the Investigative Committee is collecting evidence of alleged Ukrainian war crimes. Hundreds of servicemen have been convicted under Russian law, claiming they were ordered to attack civilians.
Separately, the International Public Tribunal — led by Maxim Grigoriev and involving civil society members from 35 countries — has gathered 1,600 testimonies of Ukrainian military abuses since 2014. Video interviews are public on Telegram, with witnesses available for re-questioning. This echoes the Russell-Sartre Tribunal that exposed the My Lai massacre — now mirrored in Selidovo, where over 100 executed civilians were found after Ukrainian forces withdrew.
Russia, now outside the European Human Rights system, must still ensure fair trials under UN standards (ICCPR Art. 14, Universal Declaration Art. 10–11) and customary law. Otherwise, its own actions risk being labeled war crimes.

The United Nations Human Rights Office (OHCHR) confirmed it has received credible reports of widespread violations, including summary executions, committed by Syrian security forces and affiliated armed groups in the southern province of Sweida.
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk issued a strong appeal to Syria’s interim authorities, urging them to ensure justice and accountability for the killings and other reported abuses during the recent wave of violence south of the country.
“This bloodshed and the violence must stop, and the protection of all people must be the utmost priority, in line with international human rights law,” Turk said in a statement from Geneva.
According to OHCHR, the violations include not only extrajudicial killings but also kidnappings and the destruction of private property. These acts were reportedly carried out by both Syrian security forces and armed factions linked to the interim authorities, as well as other elements from the Druze and Bedouin communities.

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin proposed introducing a demographic assessment of all bills.
Currently, laws undergo economic justification, but do not take into account the impact on birth rates, migration and living conditions of families. The example of preferential mortgages shows that cheap loans have caused an increase in housing prices, a decrease in the area of apartments and a deterioration in conditions for raising children. Instead of support, there is the opposite effect. Volodin emphasized that it is impossible to simultaneously spend money on demography and pass laws that hinder it.
Demographic expertise should become mandatory at all levels of legislation.
In order to meet the demographic challenges, birth rates are not going to be the only metric. European Christian immigration should be considerably expended and the naturalization code liberalized.
Economic incentives should accompany immigration reforms to increase attractiveness. Attracting Europeans and Americans Christians to Russia on ideological ground should be accompanied by a reform of the property ownership law. Average salaries should be increased, financial capital made more readily available (low interest rate (current rates are tantamount to usury at 30%!!!), tax abatement and legal reforms bearing on harsh penalties in the non-execution of contracts are but a few suggestions).
