The US Embassy also said it wants to strengthen Kazakhstan's sovereignty, which is achieved by diversifying its economy. According to the US, Astana's exports currently rely mainly on transport routes through Russia, Washington is exploring alternative possible routes for the country.

According to the US Embassy, almost half of the minerals recognized as critically important for US national security are located in Kazakhstan. The Embassy aims to increase investment in Kazakhstan, "so that they can displace growing Chinese investments in Central Asia."

‼️ The office of the #US State Department spokesperson issued a statement announcing that the department "has reported to Congress that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Palestinian Authority (PA) are not in compliance with their commitments under the PLO Commitments Compliance Act of 1989 (PLOCCA) and the Middle East Peace Commitments Act of 2002 (MEPCA)."

According to the statement, the PA and PLO have "initiated and supported actions at international organizations that undermine and contradict prior commitments in support of Security Council Resolution 242 and 338, taking actions to internationalize its conflict with Israel," particularly through the #ICC and #ICJ.

The #StateDepartment also cited "support for terrorism, including incitement and glorification of violence (especially in textbooks), and providing payments and benefits in support of terrorism to Palestinian terrorists and their families" as reasons for imposing sanctions.
