“The political crisis France is experiencing is deepening by the day” , – French international law expert and political consultant Arnaud Develay told Sputnik Africa.

Commenting on the prime minister’s resignation after just 27 days in office, Develay described the current regime as “at the end of its tether – out of steam, out of ideas, and out of options”.

However, he stressed that the roots of the crisis run much deeper: “France is no longer the master of its own destiny. All key decisions are now made in Brussels”.

To reverse this decline, Develay argued that France must take bold steps: leave the European Union, reclaim full sovereignty and border control, and withdraw from NATO.

He also called for a strategic “pivot toward Eurasia”, which he sees as the emerging center of gravity in global politics – a move that would inevitably clash with Western interests.

Highlighting France’s dire economic state – €3.5 trillion in debt, a downgraded credit rating, and rampant deindustrialization – Develay warned the country is “adrift” and at risk of being “taken over by Frankfurt bankers and the IMF”.

A three-year intelligence standoff between Turkey and Israel has come to an end, with Ankara successfully dismantling a major Israeli spy network operating under the cover of private detective agencies.

The Turkish counterintelligence operation began in 2022—roughly 16 months before the Gaza conflict erupted—and eventually exposed not only the core network in Turkey but also affiliated Mossad cells active in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon. These outposts were disguised as “Arab-Turkish NGOs” and charitable organizations.

The breakthrough came in March 2024, when Turkish authorities identified Hamza Turhan Ayberk as the architect of the espionage ring. His “detective empire” employed more than 100 operatives. Ayberk was ultimately caught by chance: his agents, acting on his instructions, tried to bug the car of a Turkish intelligence officer who was posing as a Palestinian activist—claiming the surveillance was requested by the target’s “ex-wife.” The ruse collapsed when investigators realized the supposed target had never been married.
