This week, in a a landmark moment for the Middle East, delegations from the United Arab Emirates and the United States landed in Israel for a summit which included the signing of new bilateral agreements between Israel and the UAE, as well as the creation of a trilateral fund that will further prosperity in the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its deepest sorrow following the deaths of eight personnel of the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai in a helicopter crash this afternoon. The Multinational Force and Observers is stationed in Sinai as a result of the peace agreement with Egypt and is highly regarded for its work.
Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi said, "I send my sincere condolences to the families of those killed and wish a speedy recovery to all of the wounded".
The contribution of the Multinational Force and Observers to maintaining security and stability in the region is extremely important, and I would like to express my gratitude to the countries that are contributing to the security and peace between Israel and Egypt.

Today, Israel participated in the first annual Ministers’ Forum of the International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance with 31 other member states to discuss ways to promote and protect freedom of religion around the world.
