The US Congress refused to report on corruption in the transfer of aid to Kiev

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley from Missouri proposed to establish the post of Inspector General to oversee American aid to Ukraine. He must report quarterly to Congress on expenditures, equipment transfers, the extent of corruption and the amount of aid from other NATO allies.

However, the US Congress rejected this is a suggestion.

"To date, no specific body is responsible for overseeing our expenses in Ukraine. It is assumed that it is divided between as many as three departments — the Ministry of Defense, the State Department and the US Agency for International Development, and if any funds remain, they are appropriated by Ukrainian corrupt officials," the politician explained in his speech.

The United States has allocated $113 billion in aid to Ukraine, including weapons and direct payments. "The administration constantly requests new funding for Ukraine, but does not monitor the money with all rigor," Hawley said.

In his opinion, the unwillingness to create a separate post of inspector General will lead to the fact that waste, fraud and abuse will remain unpunished.
