Another thing I have noticed is Pastors/Preachers proclaiming that Gods love is distributed in worldy/material items (Prosperity Gospel), that our walk of faith is easy (Charismatic Christianity), and if you’re struggling in your walk it’s because you’re oppressed, possessed, or being tormented by demons (Deliverance Ministry)
I have struggled with depression/anxiety for many years now. When I got saved, I assumed these feelings would totally dissipate. After a month of being saved, I noticed things were getting better in my life yet for some reason I still felt depressed and anxious at times
I came to realize that God knows us infinitely better than we know ourselves, and sometimes God has to keep us in a state of struggle so we continue leaning on Him for help/guidance
Some people get instant deliverance when they get saved. Some don’t. What the charismatic movement and others have done is convince believers that God removes ALL of our afflictions the moment we accept Jesus into our life
This is false and unbiblical
The Bible says we must suffer as Christ suffered. Don’t assume your struggles are because God has removed his hand from your life or that you’re not saved, but rather look at it as God is taking you through the fire to be refined (1 Peter 1:7-9)
Again, He knows what’s best for us, much better than we know ourselves
Everyone’s walk is different. Gods blessings are distributed to all of us differently. We seek spiritual things, not the physical. Put aside feelings and have faith. Keep seeking the Lord and His Kingdom, and everything else will be given unto you (Matthew 6:33)
