No fucking way norse mythology is not a just a made up epic poem of sorts in order to entertain, with characters divinized. The entire mythology is full of absolutely ridiculous and hilarious comedy level things. In Lokasenna you got Loki having a battle of insults in verse. In Þrymskviða he becomes a transvestite together with Thor in order to fool the jötunn Þrymr and get Thor's hammer back. In Hyndluljóð Loki tranforms into a mare and gets fucked by a horse and gives birth to an 8-legged horse. In Prose Edda Thor and Loki got something similar to the Hercules' trials, but which turn out to be illusions and way more exagerated, like Thor actually lowering ocean levels by chugging the water, which he thought was alcohol in the illusion.
