Israel will not trade the body of Yahya Sinwar in the proposed hostage deal, per reports.
Lots of random stuff like this flying around right now.

I spent a fair amount of time studying the Israel-Hamas hostage deal over the last 2 days. I don’t love it. But I get why Israel is doing it. If, in the end, Israeli diplomacy returns 140-150 hostages (total), it’s not for non-Israelis to judge. The trauma of this war must end.
The only real question now is whether Hamas (or less likely, Israel) tries to change the terms agreed upon. What is written isn’t always what is understood or desired.
Now for the Israeli cabinet meeting, likely tomorrow. It will be bitter. There will be fierce opponents of the deal, and not just Smotrich or Ben Gvir. But it is 100% going to pass with a large majority.
One little nugget so just picked up:
No “celeb” terrorists to be released in the hostage deal.
Deepest sympathies to fans of Marwan Barghouti.

Folks in Israel believe the deal is still going to happen, despite the last minute SNAFUs.
This moment may be among the most revealing since 10/7 for Israeli society.
Kfir Bibas has literally been the poster child for the fight to return the hostages.
As the harsh reality begins to sink in, will the hostage families still press for an end of the war?
