Downtown: Around 50 protestors have gathered near City Hall for the Hoop for Justice march
Downtown: In the past half hour protestors blocked both directions of traffic on Spring at Temple
Downtown: LAPD estimates the crowd to be 70 people marching alongside a school bus
Covina: A group of protestors have gathered for a vigil in front of Sheriff Deputy Miguel Vegas house, the deputy who shot and killed Andres Guardado
Covina: Possible 🐷 staging at Covina High School nearby
Covina: Photos of Covina High School parking lot showing numerous police vehicles includes at least one armored vehicle
Covina: Activists are demanding charges be brought against Deputy Vega and have promised to return until that happens
Covina: Estimated crowd of 50-60 gathered at the vigil with two 🐷s monitoring across the street
Downtown: LAPD reports having someone in custody at 7th and Los Angeles
Covina: Representative from Mitch O’Ferrell’s office addresses crowd to say “thank you, keep going”
Covina: At least 4 officers have arrived on scene saying “we had an agreement, no trespassing” to one protestor, possibly referring to post-it notes and chalk in front of Deputy Vega’s house
Covina: One officer has entered Deputy Vega’s home implying that he may be inside. The crowd has grown to 75 people.
Covina: What looks to be about 6 cops have detained a woman for being on the lawn of Vega’s house. The crowd is demanding they release her.
Covina: LAPD on their way to Vega’s house. LASD are on the scene as a large group along with the armored vehicle and squad cars.
Covina: Sheriffs in vests, helmets, and batons in hand have formed a line and are pushing in on the crowd, declaring an unlawful assembly
Covina: Two more protestors are being detained for “driving intoxicated”, they deny the charge.
Covina: Riot Sheriffs are on the scene
Downtown: LAPD in pursuit of a vehicle that hit a protestor on Spring and fled westbound on 1st
Covina: 🚁 announced unlawful assembly to the crowd. Sheriffs now outnumber the protestors and they’ve brought LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device)
Downtown: LAPD alleges group of 50 protestors “possibly trying to break into City Hall” calling attention to one individual thought to be carrying a baseball bat
Covina: Protestor arrested on suspicion of vandalism
