As for related women, their immediate relatives may see what appears of her by way of habit, such as the face, the hands, the feet, and parts of the leg, Ahmad ibn Hanbal (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I hate for a man to look at his mother and sisters legs and breasts. [Ahkam An Nisa']
Abu Bakr al-Jassaas (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in his Tafseer: The apparent meaning indicates that it is permissible to show one’s adornment to one’s husband and to whose who are also mentioned in the verse, such as fathers etc. It is well known that what is meant is the places where adornments are worn, which are the face, hand and arm… this implies that it is permissible for those who are mentioned in the verse to look at these places, which are the places where hidden adornments are worn, as it says in the beginning of the verse that only outward adornments may be seen by strangers (non-mahrams), but the husband and mahrams are permitted to see hidden adornments. It was narrated from Ibn Mas’ood and al-Zubayr that this refers to earrings, necklaces, bracelets and anklets.
This applies both to the husband and to the others who are mentioned along with him. The general meaning implies that it is permissible for those who are mentioned to look at the places where these adornments are worn just as it is permissible for the husband. End quote.
It says in Kashshaaf al-Qinaa’ (5/11): A man may also look at the face, neck, hand, foot, head and calf of a woman who is his mahram. According to this report al-Qaadi said: It is permissible (to look at) that which ordinarily appears such as the head and hands up to the elbows.

A huge fire happened in Hawl today and over 30 tents were either destroyed completely or have been damaged.
The kurds didn't allow water to come in today so imagine a huge fire is happening and there is no water to put it off. Instead of bringing a water truck the soldiers started shooting at the sisters who were trying to put off the fire.
Alhamdulilaah we might have our differences in the camp but when a calamity befalls us we come together Alhamdulilaah the sisters were able to put off the fire without a water truck ... they used their fire extinguishers and of course with Allah's help.
My dear sisters return back to our Lord, this is from our sins ...
May Allaah forgive and guide us all Ameen.

An important reminder from our beloved Shaykh:
“They asked Abū ‘Ubaydah al-Khawwas why he hasn’t laughed in 40 years?
He said: How can I laugh when a Muslim is still imprisoned by the Mushrikīn? [Narrated in Sifāt as-Safwah (2/416)]
What would he do if he seen the attitude of Muslims today towards their captives! Torture, humiliation, violation, forgotten, neglected families!
Have you thought about Muslim captives or their families? Have you ever raised your hands in du’ā for them? Have you asked Allāh to keep them steadfast under the torture and in the dark lonely cells? Have you ever imagined feeling what they and their families feel?
Keep the answer between you and Allāh! But know: captives and their families have rights upon us, and He will ask us about it!”
— Shaykh Ahmad Jibrīl (حفظه الله).

Couple of years ago Shaykh Ahmad Mūsa Jibrīl raised awareness for Shaykh Nāsir Al-Fahd's case with a twitter campaign and a 20 mins video wherein he spoke about his prison conditions. We ask our brothers and sisters to use the HashTag: #Free_Nasr_AlFhd to raise awareness for the Shaykh and to let the Saudi tawāgīth know that we support him and stand with him demanding his release.

Brothers and sisters, in order for us to realize how precious and sacred the believing women are for Muslims and how dire our state is right now, we need to go back and look at the Seerah of the prophet Muhammad salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam.
We know what happened moments before the prophet salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam signed the treaty of Hudaybiyah. When Suhayl ibn ‘Amr was writing this treaty with Muhammad salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam, Abu Jandal (the son of Suhayl) suddenly appeared. He escaped from the prison in Makkah in chains and came to be with the Muslims because he heard that the Muslims were gathered in Hudaybiyah. Upon seeing Abu Jandal, Suhayl ibn ‘Amr told rasulAllaah salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam that Abu Jandal is the first case he takes up with regards to the treaty and that he must return Abu Jandal to him. The prophet didn’t want to give up Abu Jandal and asked Suhayl to let him have him because he still didn’t sign the agreement yet, but Suhayl insisted and said: “Its’ either this or nothing!” Thereupon rasulAllaah salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam told Abu Jandal that he must be returned. And Abu Jandal said: “O rasulAllaah, would you send me back to the disbelievers to test me in my religion?” And rasuAllaah salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam told Abu Jandal: “Be patient and endure the situation for Allaah’s sake. He will certainly provide for you and those who are suffering with you, a way out of your hardship. We have made a treaty with these people with a pledge by Allaah that we will be faithful to our agreement. We shall not violate our pledges.”
So, we can see from the above that because of the treaty rasulAllaah salalahu ‘alayhi wassallam had with the disbelievers, he sent Abu Jandal back to them. Shortly after that Allaah ‘Aza wa Jall revealed the following ayah:
{O you who have believed, when the believing women come to you as emigrants, examine [i.e., test] them. Allah is most knowing as to their faith. And if you know them to be believers, then do not return them to the disbelievers; they are not lawful [wives] for them, nor are they lawful [husbands] for them. But give them [i.e., the disbelievers] what they have spent. And there is no blame upon you if you marry them when you have given them their due compensation [i.e., mahr]. And hold not to marriage bonds with disbelieving women, but ask for what you have spent and let them [i.e., the disbelievers] ask for what they have spent. That is the judgement of Allah; He judges between you. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.} [Surat Al Mumta’hanah: 10]

Contemplate on this ayah and look at how and why Allaah ‘Aza wa Jall makes an exception to NOT hand over the Muslim women! They are not lawful for the disbelievers! Look at the importance and the honour that Allaah ‘Aza wa Jall has given to the believing women! And this is during a time when the kuffar were not known to do such things to Muslim women as what they do today. Brothers and sisters, do we really understand this ayah? If the answer is yes, then are we doing what’s necessary and in our power to help our sisters in captivity right now? Muslim women CANNOT and SHOULD NOT be under the control of the kuffar ever!! And if they’re under their control then it is an obligation on us all to collectively do something to get them out of that situation ASAP! How difficult is this to understand? WAllaahi our obligation to them is common sense and one of the first things we learn when we say our Shahadah! You don’t need any ‘Alim, student of knowledge, or a Da’iee, to tell you to help them! And you also don’t need anyone to tell you what happens to many of our honourable sisters all around the world when they’re under the control of the kuffar. May Allaah shower them all with Thabaat/Sabr, hasten their release, and grant them Firdaws! Shame on every single person (especially the so called ‘men’) who call themselves Muslims and still have not done anything for these sisters and their likes! What victory are you awaiting when you cannot even do the bare minimum? Do you really think you can fool and trick Allaah with your petty excuses?
It’s strange and quite ironic that everyone jumps on the bandwagon when we talk about freeing and raising awareness for those who we really cannot even free or there’s extremely low chances of freeing (ie. Aafia Siddiqui, Nasr Al-Fahd, our brothers and sisters in Uyghur, etc.). We cannot pay ransom for their release and Dua’a and raising awareness is all that we’re able to do for majority of these prisoners (atm). But on the other hand, with our sisters in the camps, not only are we able to help in raising awareness for them, helping them financially, but we can also help to release them! And in addition to that everything is at our fingertips, so we can do it from the comfort of our homes without any difficulties! And actually, we should be raising awareness for our sisters in the camps more than all these other cases! Why? Because of the mere fact that they can actually be released! Meaning its practical and not theoretical! But still, many us turn away, ignore, and act like there’s nothing we can do. Aside from the same few people (may Allaah shower you all with Thabaat and grant you all Firdaws! JazakAllaahu khayran), you won’t hear anything from others who claim to be on the manhaj about these honourable sisters and their likes!
If you don’t want to raise awareness or help the sisters because of the stigmatizing that is done by the kuffar and the munafiqeen against them, then know that the same stigmatizing has been done against the vast majority of the Muslims imprisoned around the world (including ‘Aafia Siddiqui, Shaykh Nasr Al-Fahd, etc.). So why the double standards? People talk big about supporting the Ummah and sacrificing for it, but when it comes down to it, only a few are willing to step up. The rest are completely fine exercising their “Hikmah” under the pretext of “we cannot do anything except Dua’a and Sabr”. It’s mindboggling to see the double standards of many Muslims who talk about how much Ghayrah they have for Islam and especially their sisters, whether it’s their wives, daughters, mothers, or sisters, but ironically are mute when it comes to our sisters in the camps who number in the hundred thousands! What ever happened to the Ummah is one body?
I’ll end with what someone stated last week:
“You are unable to help one ‘Aafia Siddiqui…but you have many more Aafia Siddiqui in Sham…For how long will you withhold and express grief of not being able to help without your hands not even extending forth?”

Advice to the Student of Knowledge:
Knowledge is not to be merely written down in the books by you and then thrown to the side never returned to again. There are greater men who authored notes better than we could ever do. The difference is the memorisation and implementation of the knowledge. That's the key and that's the purpose. Writing notes should be to assist you in this, when you leave it to a side and never return to it, you defeat the purpose of writing notes. You need to insert it in your mind and your heart, you need to believe in it and implement it, and then communicate it, then you become blessed. Otherwise, there is no difference between you and the donkey that carries books on its back.
Writing notes is highly praised and extremely recommended. I always recognise a successful student from the unsuccessful one when I see the way they take notes. Because every knowledge which isn't written down perishes, it gets forgotten. However, the point is, you cannot neglect your notes. You need to memorise and revise them continuously.
"Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He always) maintains His creation in Justice. La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." - Interpretation of the meaning, Surat Ali Imran V 18
Allah puts His name first, then He mentions the angels and following right after that from amongst all of His creation, He mentions the people of knowledge. Allah raised the status of the people of knowledge. Laa ilaha ilAllah is the key to paradise, it is a mighty knowledge. And its virtue is magnificent!
As the Prophet, صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
"‘A man from my nation will be called out in front of the whole of the creation on the Day of Resurrection. Ninety-nine scrolls will be laid out for him. Each of the scrolls will be as far as the eye can see. Then it will be said, “Do you deny anything from this?” So he will say, “No, O my Lord.” So it will be said, “Do you have any excuse or any good deed?” So the man will fear and he will say, “No.” So it will be said: “Yes indeed, you have good deeds with Us. You will not be wronged concerning them.”
So a parchment will be brought out for him containing, ‘I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger. So he will say, “O my Lord, what is this parchment in comparison to those scrolls?” So it will be said, “You will not be wronged.” So the scrolls will be placed on one side of the scale and that parchment will be placed on the other side of the scale. So the scrolls will be lighter and the parchment will outweigh."
Allah raised the status of the people of knowledge (who hold knowledge of the religion and the Hereafter) to be with the angels. Nothing is mightier than knowledge, it is what empowers you allows you to walk on this Earth whilst your heart roams around paradise. Knowlegde is mightier than anything and everything else, it will be from amongst the only things which remain even after your death. The greatest rewards carry the heaviest responsibilities, that's why you need to hold yourself to account before you're accounted for. Act upon your knowledge!!

Spending your time doing Da’wah and gaining ‘Ilm is awesome, but it’s important to always make time for other ‘Ibaadaat that are heart-softening and will increase your closeness and longing towards Allah. The heart can easily become hard with so much studying, reading, writing, and posting.
Don’t let that happen.
Maintain a balance between doing Da’wah/studying and recitation of the Qur’an/Nawafil/Tahajjud/Du’a.
There needs to be a balance between matters related to the Dunya, personal ‘Ibaadaat for the soul, and working to promote the Deen of Allah.
We shouldn’t solely focus on one aspect while abandoning others.

URGENT UPDATE ON SHEIKH OMAR BAKRI MUHAMMAD
It has recently become apparent that the renowned Salafi Islamic scholar Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad has not only been kept in prison 3 years after his release date but that he has been continually denied essential medical treatment as his health continues to deteriorate and other basic rights afforded to other prisoners in the notorious Roumieh prison, Lebanon.
Among the torture techniques being used include:
1. Being kept in a tiny cell alone for the last two years without access to anything that other prisoners have such as books, association, phones etc..
2. Given a permit only to take exercise on the roof of the prison for half an hour at midday when the heat of the sun is blazing, which the Sheikh has understandably refused.
3. Being driven to the hospital when an essential appointment is made, then kept in a car outside and being told that there are no doctors and hence being returned to prison without seeing anyone.
4. Being made to miss any court dates that are made by being kept blindfolded in a car outside court and just being told on every occasion that ‘it’s been postponed’
5. Being regularly beaten and having his honour violated by guards who keep their faces covered. This accompanies any appointment (medical or court) so that the Sheikh dreads going anywhere.
Sheikh Omar has appealed to all Muslims to put pressure on the man in charge of the prison Imad Othman, the Major-General, General Director of the Internal Security Forces since 2017 (email isf@isf.gov.lb) to at least remove him from unnecessary isolation so that he can deal with his case as others within the prison are able to and to stop the inhuman treatment.

This is a severe warning to us my dear Muslim brothers and sisters to do whatever we can to secure the release of Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad or at least his just treatment as well as that of all other innocent Scholars and Muslims in prison such as Sheikh Nasir Al-Fahd and sister Aafia Siddiqui...
