Imām Ibn ‘Abdīl Barr also said:

“Indeed, the Mahrams that are related through kindship or suckling are not to be concealed from, nor to be covered up in front of EXCEPT for the ‘Awrāt, and the woman is a ‘Awrah (to the Mahrams) EXCEPT for her face & hands.”

[Tamhīd (8/236)]

This is being quoted as an example of how strict ‘Ulamaa were when it comes to dressing in front of the Mahrams and other women. He mentioned only the face and hands can be shown, and other ‘Ulama also mentioned the feet and areas where the water touches during Wudhu’. Amongst the Salaf, it was well known that they disliked that a woman should show her hair to her Mahrams. This was the extent of their modesty and good character. Today, people uncover in front of their Mahrams and other women what is only permissible to uncover in front of the husband (such as the legs, chest, back, upper arms). This is totally prohibited, refer to our last few posts (Instagram: @al.qawareer) for more explanation insha’Allah.

All this noise about Shaykh Nasir and Shaykh Omar is beautiful to see, it's beautiful to see Muslims from all around the globe take part in raising awareness for these two giants of the deen.

However we also should be raising awareness and speaking on behalf of the voiceless wherever they may be, if they're in a prison in Australia or they are in need of aid in Somalia we as an ummah should raise awareness and come to their aid to best of our ability, even if it's a kind word or a small kind gesture. This life for a believer is hard enough for the amount of test and trails are upon the path of Haqq, so why is it we allow those who tread the same path as we do, do it alone? Have we no shame?
I saw a post saying "This isn't a pick and choose game" meaning those who take part of the Shaykh Nasir storm should take part in the Shaykh Omar and this is true, i say those who take part in both of these should also do his or hers best to comfort any Muslim who is going through a tough time. You don't have to be out there on twitter showing the world, you can simply private msg a Muslim asking if they are okay or in need of anything.

Indeed this isn't a pick and choose game, nor is this a ego boost nor is this a trend. Our aim is to come to the aid of any and every Muslim, because united we will never be defeated, the more united and love between us the stronger our ummah gets, let's never forget. Love for your brother what you love for your self.

‘TWITTER STORM’ FOR SHEIKH OMAR BAKRI MUHAMMAD TONIGHT

My dear muslim brothers and sisters, tonight at 10pm UK time (5pm New York and 7am tomorrow in Sydney etc..) you are kindly asked to spread as much information about Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad’s situation in Roumieh prison Lebanon accompanied by the hashtag: #FreeSheikhOmarBakriMuhammad
Please demand an end to his captivity and his immediate release. The Sheikh has personally asked for pressure to be placed on the head of the prison Major-General Imad Othman, whose email is isf@isf.gov.lb

I suggest therefore that together with the hashtag campaign you also write a letter in your own words to him via his email expressing the same sentiments.

Some of the more important points to make are that:

1. His sentence finished 3 years ago and he is now being held illegally and without charge (even though the original charges and imprisonment were themselves a farce and concocted)

2. That he is an old frail man with many health problems and with a wife and young children who need him to come home.

3. That due to his isolation, lack of exercise, lack of basic medical care and continuous mistreatment by the prison guards his detention is an abuse of his rights, his Islamic divine rights and even their own man made so-called human rights. He must at the very least be put back with the main prison population where he has access to all the prison facilities.

4. That the many students and supporters of Sheikh Omar Bakri among Muslims around the world and those with a conscience are watching the Lebanese regimes treatment of this Sunni Islamic Scholar and will not rest until he is released.

5. That the upcoming court hearing on Monday 13th September must result in his complete freedom or if any other trumped up charges are being considered, that he be granted bail.

Of course we put our complete trust in Allah (SWT) in these matters and if Allah (SWT) decides to free him no one can prevent this and if he wants to test someone then that is his decree. Nevertheless it is also the case that Allah (SWT) has placed upon us the burden of freeing Muslims in captivity so we will be asked about what we did to free them, whether Sheikh Omar Bakri, Sheikh Nasir Al-Fahd or others.

So this campaign is as much about freeing our own necks from the sin and burden of remaining silent when we see or hear of oppression. Moreover the Messenger Muhammad (saw) informed us that if we help remove the oppression upon others in crisis then Allah (SWT) will also save us from crisis that we may face in our own lives, another motive for us to do what we can.

There are also other things which we can do which require very little from us such as making Dua (supplication) to Allah (SWT) for the Aseer (prisoners).

May Allah (SWT) put barakah (blessings) in all our efforts to free the aseer and may he grant us the pleasure of seeing its positive impact.

To whom it may concern

I am emailing regarding the unlawful treatment that the Shaykh Nasr Al Fahd is being given in the prison of Saudi Arabia.

It has come to my attention that he is not only being treated inhumanely but that there is a secretive ongoing trial from the Saudi Arabian Government to have him executed before his sentence ends.

He has multiple health conditions which are being left untreated, his left arm was paralyzed from the torture inflicted by your intelligence officers. They seated him on a hot place for four hours which made him very sick to such an extent he had to crawl on his stomach, wasn't able to use the toilet or even pray! His bed, books, spectacles and rights to communication were taken away and he was tied up for 11 days.

The conditions in which he is imprisoned are appalling and shocking for a country like Saudi Arabia. You have stripped him of every basic human right. You have denied him from visitation and speaking to his family for years, you beat him like an animal, you tie him up and drag him through the prison paths?! Your guards put their shoes on his face. I ask you, where are his Islamic and human rights in a country like Saudi Arabia that is called Islamic to the whole world?

I am emailing to ask that you look into this situation and free Nasr Al Fahd from this torture that no human has to endure. And as for you to be the rulers of the Arabs and having a responsibility to the Muslim Ummah, we demand that you either release him or you provide him proper rights as other prisoners are given, rights to medical treatment, communication, visitation and humane treatment from your officers.

We demand that this unlawful execution is halted and would like to inform you that more and more people are becoming aware of his situation and we will not stop until you release him, or at the very least offer him a court date so he can fight for his rights the way everyone else can.

Rest assured if we don't hear back we will begin as much commotion so a thorough investigation can take place.
