How can you sleep knowing your sisters are being raped?

A woman tells Shaykh al-Zahrānī when Shaykh al-Zahrānī went to visit the refugees who were running away from Syria on the border of Jordan in the refugee camps, a woman stood up to him, she said: "Shaykh, we fled but we didn't flee because we fear our lives, but because we fear them raping us and our daughters, Shaykh I was a nurse, and a woman after woman of the honourable women of Syria would come to me asking me for suicide by vaccination". They want a shot to put them out of their life, why? Because they no longer can live after being raped, they feel that, Wallāhī she said it, and when the Syrians speak, you better listen and believe. Haytham al-Mālih said on al-Jazīrah, the 15 year old his relative who was imprisoned with, his relative was a 60 year old woman, they let her go, probably had no use for her, for their evil purposes, so they let her go, she said: "Wallāhi I was in prison with a 15 year old who was raped by 60 of the thugs of the Rāfidah". When they asked another man to get ransom for his wife, his wife told him: “no, don't pay the ransom to get me out of prison, over 20 of them raped me, I wanna die.” The letter that was sent out from the prisons of the Assad's from your sisters, "Help us, rescue us, we're being raped! If you can't, then at least send us pills so we don't have to get pregnant from the thugs of the Assad, the Rāfidah."

Yeah, it's not the Jews doing this, nor is it the crusaders, it's who we have been telling you for decades, and Ibn Taymiyyah has been telling you for over 700 years, and the Scholars for many years, now the Syrians uncover the reality of this matter, how many have heard of the cries and the shouts of the women seeking help, but poor women, what were they thinking, what are the shouts for, you're speaking to a dead Ummah, do you think the Mu'tassim is alive, they must be thinking they're talking to an alive Ummah, but they are talking in reality to a dead Ummah, she's speaking to an Ummah that slaughtered jealousy and exterminated it out of their lives, she's speaking to an Ummah who's hearts died long ago, an Ummah that no longer has a Mu'tassim, when one call came to al-Mu'tassim, and this is a true story, some people put doubts to this story because they can't see something like this happening. When one woman called al-Khalīf al-'Abbās al-Mu'tassim, one woman, because one Christian had dishonoured her, a man heard her, a Muslim was hearing her, he responded - the christian who dishonoured the Muslim woman told her: “O you call the leader al-Mu'tassim, you think he's going to come when he's pre-occupied with his servants and concubines”, the man who heard her, the muslim rode the desert for a month to get to al-Mu'tassim: "you're sitting here drinking water and luxury and comfort, and this Muslimah is going through this and that of what just happened". When he explained the situation, al-Mu'tassim put down the cup and told the servants, "don't touch this cup, I'm gonna to come back and finish it when I'm done". He goes to 'Āmuriyyah, rescues the girl and captures the one who dishonoured her, and tells him, "Do you really think I'll be pre-occupied with my concubines and wives over the honour of a believing Muslim woman?!" and he opened the land of 'Āmuriyyah, 4 different minor versions of this story, but it's as solidly as true as can be.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said in ‘Lata’if al-Ma’arif’ (p. 276):

“Winter is the best season for the believer because…Allah strengthens his practice in it by making worship easy for him. This is because in winter, the believer can fast during the day with ease without suffering from hunger and thirst. The days are short and cold, and he therefore doesn’t feel the hardship of fasting…

As for praying at night in the winter due to its long nights, one can have his share of sleep and then get up to pray afterwards and recite all that he usually recites of the Qur’an while he has had enough sleep. So, he can combine between the sleep that he needs and the usual amount of recitation of the Qur’an that he completes in a day. So, he fulfills the interests of both his religion and the comfort of his body…

And it was narrated that Ibn Mas’ud said: “Welcome to winter! Blessings descend in it, its nights are long to pray in, and its days are short to fast in.” It is also narrated from him and al-Hasan: “Winter is a wonderful time for the believer. Its nights are long to pray in, and its days are short to fast in.” When it was winter time, ‘Ubayd bin ‘Umayr would say: “O people of the Qur’an! Your nights are now long for you to recite in. So, recite! Your days are now short for you to fast in. So, fast! Night prayer in the winter equals fasting during the day in the summer.” This is why Mu’adh wept on his deathbed and said: “I weep because I will miss the thirst I felt when I fasted, praying at night during the winter, and sitting knee to knee with the scholars during the gatherings of knowledge.””

"In Musannaf of Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hudhayfah was asked, "Who do you consider the living dead?" He said "Those who abandon Al Amr bil Maroof wan Nahi 'anil Munkar"

Those who abandon ordaining the good and forbidding the evil. He considered them the living dead, that's why a true Dā'iya prefers the underground than over it, when he can't do Amr bil Maroof wan Nahi 'anil Munkar or he's banned from it and he's willing to risk the most valuable to perform it. It's such an important, neglected obligation that returns upon one in Dunya and Akhira."

Q&A with Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril حفظه الله

Question:
"What single phrase can we say to send both Salah & Salam upon the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), outside of prayer?

Is it sufficient to say: اللهم صل وسلم على محمد
(Allāhumma salli wa sallim 'alā Muhammad)?

Was this used by the Sahabah too after the passing of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) or did they use another Du'aa?"

Answer:
"If I understood the question correctly, the proper Salah on the Rasool (صلى الله عليه وسلم) is what’s in this following Hadith because it’s explicit in answering the question pertaining that, and that is why Ibn Hajar considered it the chosen form, because he [صلى الله عليه وسلم] was clearly asked and clearly gave an answer, so any other form would not be at the level of this.

"Once the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) came to us and we said, 'O Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم)! We know how to greet you; but how to send 'Salat' upon you? He said, 'Say: Allāhumma Salli ‘alā Muhammadin wa 'alā Āli Muhammadin, kamā sal-laita 'alā Ibrāhīma wa 'alā Āli Ibrāhīma innaka Hamīdun Majīd. Allāhumma bārik 'alā Muhammadin wa 'alā Āli Muhammadin, kamā bārakta 'alā Ibrāhīma wa 'alā Āli Ibrāhīma, innaka Hamīdun Majīd.""[Bukhari]

[Translation: “O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad, as You sent prayers upon Ibraahīm and upon the family of Ibraahīm; You are indeed Worthy of Praise, Full of Glory. O Allaah, send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibraahīm and upon the family of Ibraahīm; You are indeed Worthy of Praise, Full of Glory”]

That’s not to say other forms are not accepted, but this is the best.

There is a Hadith Muwatta’ Malik that 'Umar mentioned that statement with -'alayka- (السلام عليك أيها النبي ورحمة الله وبركاته), after the death of the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم).

And if your question is because of the -kaaf- of mukhatabah, The Sahabah used it when they prayed at distances when he was alive (صلى الله عليه وسلم). Had it been an issue, he would have said "those who pray with me say 'Alayka, and if you're traveling or in the outskirts say "Salamu 'Ala an-Nabi'".

Ibn Mas'ud, after the death of the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم), would say -Asaalamu alā- instead of -'Alayk-.

Other summarized forms are acceptable insha'Allah, but as Ibn Hajar mentioned, since he [صلى الله عليه وسلم] was specifically asked, the answer would be the most chosen, and anything other than it would be deficient."

It’s well known to most that Shaykh Ahmad believes the face and hands of the woman are ‘Awrah. The sister who asked this question asked SPECIFICALLY regarding for modeling the items of clothing, as the Shaykh said he is “fully against women going on Social Media” (i.e displaying themselves), with or without Niqab. Modeling clothing to sell was the only issue in which a clarification was needed from the Shaykh, because it’s the only reason that a woman might actually need to post a photo of herself in Niqāb for. Alhamdulillah, the Shaykh made his position clear and offered an alternative.

When asked about covering or showing the eyes in general, Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril said “I definitely recommend that they be covered if a woman is able to. In such matters (issues of social media and online platforms) and in this day and age, it’s not wise with what’s going on to show leniency (regarding covering the eyes).”

Question:
What’s the ruling on sisters modeling Abayahs and Niqābs online for selling?

Answer:
I don’t believe there is anyone more strict than me on the issue of Niqāb. I believe a woman is fully ‘Awrah.

In summary: If it’s FULL Niqāb and TOTALLY covered, then I can’t say it’s Harām unless it’s Fitnah or maybe close to it, but regardless I don’t advise nor approve of our sisters to do it because the one who chose to wear Niqāb should hold herself at the highest standard and I suggest using faceless dummies [instead].

Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril's opinion (حفظه الله) It’s well known to most that Shaykh Ahmad Jibril حفظه الله believes the face and hands of a woman are ‘Awrah. The sister who asked this question asked SPECIFICALLY regarding modeling the items of clothing, as…
To get a proper and honest answer for any question, it's necessary that you give context to the Shaykh, and explain in detail about the types of images you're asking regarding. This question was posed regarding sisters who are wearing Shari' Niqab (meaning full Niqab and gloves) and his stance was still so disapproving, and he stipulated (aside from that she should be covered head to toe) that there shouldn't be any Fitnah or even close to it. When he was told of those who wear half Niqabs and show their hands, you can imagine what his opinion was, and it's obvious what it was because he believes the face and hands to be 'Awrah anyways.
