Abdullah bin 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said: "A good deed brings illumination to the face, light in the heart, power in the body, and love in the people's hearts. A bad deed shows as dullness in the face, darkness in the heart, weakness in the body, shortage of blessings, and hatred in people's hearts."

Shaykh Ahmad Baathaf asked a famous Shaykh (Dr. Naasir al-‘Aqil) who is the most knowledgeable in ‘Aqeedah? Shaykh Naasir al-‘Aqil has a Masters and PhD in ‘Aqeedah (very knowledgeable in ‘Aqeedah) and he taught generations. This Shaykh (Shaykh Ahmad) is asking Shaykh Naasir al-‘Aqil who is the most knowledgeable in ‘Aqeedah? Shaykh Naasir al-‘Aqil said I do not know anyone on the face of this earth more knowledgeable in ‘Aqeedah than Shaykh Abdullah al-Ghunaymaan. Shaykh Abdullah al-Ghunaymaan has a PhD and I actually believe that to be a very, very accurate statement.
Shaykh Abdullah al-Ghunaymaan taught me and my father before me. And when he taught me, I used to frequent his house a lot. My father called him at one point and requested that he teach me. In addition, he taught us in the Islamic University and he was a teacher there in the regular curriculum of the Islamic University. He also had a chair in the Haram where he taught at times three days a week between Maghrib and Ishaa’, and at times four times a week between Maghrib and Ishaa’, and I also frequented his house. I may be mistaken and I do not want to put this on my account, but looking back at it, I do not think I have ever seen him ever smile during my stay with him or my study with him. I actually once took a friend with me to his house. I was going to go learn something and I tagged along a friend with me. During when we were talking, my friend asked a question and he got scolded real badly. When we got back in the car, he said do not ever bring me here again. He was tough and Inshaa Allah it is because he wanted to raise people properly or maybe it is his nature. I am there to learn from this giant and that is what it is. May Allah grant him and my father a long life full of deeds and Barakah.
The point is one needs patience in every aspect of learning. Today if you do not baby your students, one loses patience suddenly and he is gone. And you will be lucky if you do not find him posting something negative about you if you do not pamper him or her. Keep patience between your eyes. It is a journey – you are on a journey on Talab al-‘Ilm and you need patience for it.

Silence is the best answer to the idiot. They're seeking attention to grow and get exposure— don't give it to them.

"A person may never slander - which falls under the previous cause (the Apparent Existential Sins). But he may see it and not do Inkār of the Munkar. And that falls under this cause from two avenues... It's the right of a Muslim upon another to defend him if he's being slandered. You're not the one slandering - but you're abstaining from defending your brother. The second avenue is that leaving the defense of your brother is leaving forbidding the evil as well..."
Shaykh Ahmad Musā Jibrīl (حفظه الله تعالى و راعى)
Brothers and sisters must rise to the occasion to defend those slandered, especially their Shuyūkh. Da'wah is pure, but it has proven to be a playground for Juhāl, Husād, decievers, slanderers and gossipers. It's important to constantly check one's sincerity to ensure they don't fall into the latter categories or leave da'wah altogether when faced with the harm that comes with it. May Allah silence the tongues of all those who slander our Shuyūkh, brothers, and sisters in Islam.
Be wise in how you fulfill your obligation of defending your Muslim brothers and sisters, and may Allah make it a means of purification and elevation of ranks for all those who are slandered.

The importance of defending Shuyūkh and Muslims in general against backbiting & slander
Imām Al-Nawawi (رحمه الله) said:
“Note that the one who hears any backbiting about a Muslim should refute it and rebuke the one who says it. If he does not rebuke him in words he should rebuke him by his actions. If he cannot rebuke him by his actions or his words, then he should leave that gathering.
If he hears any backbiting about his Shaykh or anyone else who has a right over him or is one of the righteous and virtuous people, then he should pay even more attention to what we have said.
In the book of al-Tirmidhi we narrated from Abu’l-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said: “Whoever protects the honour of his brother, Allāh will protect his face from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.” [Al-Tirmidhi]”

In defence of our beloved Shaykh (حفظه الله): there are apparently some loose tongued juhhaal who have attempted to slander him but in reality they harm none but themselves.
There are several examples of some who slandered him in the past and today they are openly murtaddeen.
So continue chewing poisonous flesh, soon we will witness the death of your hearts before the death of your bodies because:
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُدَٲفِعُ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْۗ
"Truly, Allah defends those who believe."

🔹The People of Qur’aan hope for a trade that will never perish🔹
The people of Qur’aan who live with it by their hearts and souls, without desiring to attain by it the vanities of this temporary life – they hope for a trade and a gain that will never perish. Rather Allaah has bore witness to their righteousness. He (subhaanahu wa ta’aala) has said:
"Indeed, those who recite the Book of Allah and establish prayer and spend [in His cause] out of what We have provided them, secretly and publicly, [can] expect a transaction [i.e., profit] that will never perish. That He may give them in full their rewards and increase for them of His bounty. Indeed, He is Forgiving and Appreciative” [al-Faatir: 29-30]
Qataadah (رضي الله عنه) used to say whenever he read this verse: “This is the verse of the Qurraa’ (reciters).” [Tafseer al-Qurtubi (14/345)] – and that is because of what it confirms for them from great recompense and multiplied reward, and they do not take pleasure in just abundant reward, but rather Allaah increases them in honor and virtue.
Al-Qurtubi said: “This increase is intercession in the Hereafter.”

"This Imaan, protecting it, saving it, and preserving it is the duty of every person who recites the Shahadatayn. If it costs you your soul, then let your soul go. If it puts your life on the line, then let it stay on the line. If it increases your sickness till you reach the point of death, it's not a problem. We can starve! We can live in trenches! We can listen the abusive language against us! We can tolerate the taunts! But we will protect our Imaan. We will die, but we will never sell our Imaan. We'll put everything on the line, we'll sacrifice everything, but we will never sacrifice the Tawheed of our Rabb or the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ."

Knowledge Is Only Attained by Striving and Learning. It Requires Utmost Effort and Dedication.
By Allah, during the summer the people used to come to me in masses and beg me to teach them Arabic. After I’d agree, they’d appear for the first couple of weeks, then on the fourth week, the majority would disappear. Only a handful of students would remain attending the class. Those who were dedicated and sincere, they’d leave speaking fluent Arabic Fushaa in less than 3 months as well as memorising Al-Baqarah completely. What’s the point of this? The point is, knowledge cannot be attained without patience and dedication. It requires striving, sincerity and time, you cannot attain it overnight. There is no shortcut. Look at those who reached the peak of their fields, they began just as you did and they strove hard. There is no magic formula. It is only those who remain patient and sincerely strives who taste the fruits of their efforts at the end. As for the one who began and gave up, he attained nothing at all, and the little he learnt will slip away from him faster than the blink of an eye because he stopped learning and thought it was sufficient for him.
Arabic is not a hard language to learn at all. However, like anything, it requires patience and hard work.

“Do not get the perception that slander and backbiting is only by tongues and lips. It could be by a wink or a gesture, and it only gets worse on Twitter, Facebook and internet forums. Does that count? Yes that does count. Someone might say “but I was disguised by the screen and nobody knew”.
أَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَرَىٰ

Beware of The Day where we will all stand before Allāh and answer for every word that left our lips. Allāh سبحانه وتعالى may forgive us for what’s between us and Him, but what’s between us and the believers will only be forgiven by those who we wronged. May Allāh allow us to either speak good beneficial words or remain silent.
