There are also a very few brigade commanders present today who participated in the Second Lebanon War, and also a small number of brigade commanders who previously served in the security sector in southern Lebanon.
Most of the officers in the combat units – who were at a tactical level and evolved at a strategic level – did not cross the border at all inside Gaza or Lebanon.
These are the ones the chief of staff relies on for any upcoming maneuver [of war].»
